The ASIC outputs the measured data in digital pulses. The digital data gates on and off a power amplifier which couples the RF carrier to the antenna. The transmitted signal uses Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK). The carrier frequency of the sensor is 315 MHz typically. The worst case frequency shift of the carrier is 314.77MHz for the low frequency and 315.15MHz for the high frequency shift. EnTire Solutions, LLC 24175 Research Drive Farmington Hills, Mi 48335 FR – Letterhead 03/06 RE: Certification for EnTire Solutions, LLC TPM Aftermarket Sensor Model #: 218898-101 (High Line Short Valve Stem) 218898-102 (High Line Long Valve Stem) 218898-103 (Base Line Short Valve Stem) FCC ID: T7B-2T Canada IC: IC6484A-2T GENERAL DESCRIPTION This transmitter is a transmitter device with tire valve, which is mounted in the valve hole of the wheel rim and transmits the pressure and temperature inside the tire, the battery voltage of the transmitter, and the tire identification code (ID) at normal and abnormal condition with the radio wave (RF) that conforms to the used area. Also this device has a countermeasure function such as the random delay of transmission time so that the RF signal from each tire will not interfere such as due to the simultaneous transmission. The transmitter device also has a Low Frequency (LF) receiver. This receiver supports Low Frequency (LF) magnetic field communications allowing the changing of measurement/monitoring states of the transmitter by commands sent via the wheel-arch mounted TPMS Initiator (LF transmitter). The RF signal operates at 315MHz and uses ASK bi-phase modulation. Only difference between 218898-101/102 and 218898-103 is that in -103 two different RF packages are sent one after the other every 1 min 40 sec, while in -101/102 the same RF package is sent every 1 minute. The 218898-103 features the “short” v-stem There are no differences in components or function. Description of Operations P/N Consumer’s Use Mode Mfg. Brunett Research Scientist Summary Tests for compliance with FCC Regulations Part 15, Subpart C, and Industry Canada RSS-210/GEN, were performed on EnTire Solutions, LLC model(s) 218898-101, 218898-102, 218898-103. This device is subject to the Rules and Regulations as a Transmitter. In testing completed on October 2, 2006, the device tested in the worst case met the allowed FCC specifications for radiated emissions by 1.4 dB (see p. 6). Besides harmonics, there were no other significant spurious emissions found; emissions from digital circuitry were negligible. The conducted emission tests do not apply, since the device is powered from a 12 VDC battery. Introduction EnTire Solutions, LLC models 218898-101, 218898-102, and 218898-103 were tested for compliance with FCC Regulations, Part 15, adopted under Docket 87-389, April 18, 1989 as subsequently amended, and with Industry Canada RSS-210/Gen, Issue 6, September 2005. The tests were performed at the University of Michigan Radiation Laboratory Willow Run Test Range following the procedures described in ANSI C63.4-2003 "Methods of Measurement of Radio-Noise Emissions from Low-Voltage Electrical and Electronic Equipment in the Range of 9 kHz to 40 GHz". The Site description and attenuation characteristics of the Open Area Tes Site are on file with FCC Laboratory, Columbia, Maryland (FCC Reg. No: 91050) and with Industry Canada, Ottawa, ON (File Ref. Configuration and Identification of Device Under Test (DUT) 3.1 Design and Identification of the Device The DUT was designed and manufactured by EnTire Solutions, LLC, 24175 Research Drive, Farmington Hills, MI 48335-2642. It is identified as: EnTire Solutions, LLC TPMS Transmitter Model(s): 218898-101, 218898-102, 218898-103 FCC ID: T7B-2T IC: 6484A-2T 3.2 Models There are three versions/models of the DUT. The only difference between the 218898-101 and 218898- 102 models is a variation in the length of the valve stem, the -101 has a short stem and the -102 has a longer stem. The model 218898-103 is electrically identical to the 218898-101. The only difference being that its RF message transmission rate has changed from 1 min to 1 min 40s during normal operation. Transmissions are the same format and data size and contains the same number of RF messages for all three devices. 3.3 Modes of Operation The DUT periodically transmits tire pressure data. The device is also capable of being automatically actuated (via LF interrogation) either by in-vehicle LF initiators or by trained personnel during servicing. Per FCC correspondence, service modes fall under FCC part 15.231(a)(5). Figure 6.1 demonstrates compliance with both 15.231(a)(2) and (5). A list of all operating modes is included in the Description of Operation exhibit. 3.4 EMI/EMC Relevant Modifications There were no modifications made to the DUT by this laboratory. 4.
