This base station transceiver (Radio Unit – RUS 01 B14) is designed for use in 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) within the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for the Universal Mobile Telephone System (UMTS 3G) mobile system standard (cellular telephone system). The transmitter will operate from 758 MHz to 768 MHz with 5 or 10 MHz Channel Bandwidth. The receiver circuit supports 788 MHz to 798 MHz. This base station transceiver (RU) supports modulation type QPSK, 16QAM and 64QAM. This base station is appropriate to use in different Ericsson radio base stations without re-measurement and re-filing when introducing a new base station type. The base station operates in the broadband PCS services as per 47 CFR Part 27 and 47 CFR Part 90. It meets the requirements of 3GPP specification for operation in Universal Mobile Telephone System, UMTS 3G, in the radio access referred to as the Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network, E-UTRAN. This base station transceiver (RU) will in normal mode operate at a nominal power out of 20, 40 or 60 watts at the output connector. The Exhibit 8 user manuals submitted with this application is generic and may cover multiple products. This application is only valid for the model specified in exhibit 12 Circuit Description. This due to the following reasons: GSM, DS-CDMA and LTE Base Stations (BS) are designed strictly based on the technical specifications of the international project 3GPP (the 3rd Generation Partnership Project). The competition in this field is very intense and a less advanced solution/design could get an unfair advantage by accessing the information as listed below from common domain. As we believe that we have implemented groundbreaking solutions and designs into our recent BS/Remote Radio Unit (RRU) compared to the previous BS/RRU, the listed Exhibits/Items need to be protected from disclosure to our competitors in the industry. As the FCC/IC records have in-depth information and a very wide distribution, we believe that you can understand our concerns. We are strong in our belief that all vendors in the industry need to compete by their own merits. We regard these Exhibits/Items to be our intellectual property and therefore as confidential information. As our BS are generally installed in restricted places, public access is not possible thought some types of our BS under certain circumstances can be installed in an unrestricted place, but the doors on all of our BS’s are key-locked or mast mounted and can be opened only be by authorized personnel. It is therefore our BS that should not be revealed to the public. There are advanced technical and design solutions/information in the Exhibits/Items, as mentioned above, that we regard as Ericsson proprietary, with actual and potential patents pending. The information can be advantageous to our competitors as well as sources seeking ways to hack past the built in security functionality. These solutions or information thereof are not accessible even for our customers or partners unless non-disclosure agreements for particular item(s) have been signed. Confidential product information can be found in, but not necessarily limited to, internal photos of the BS and the RRU, block diagrams, schematics diagrams, and parts lists as well as certain documents, such as the user’s manuals. Those documents can only be accessible by the customers who purchase out BS and accept the conditions and therefore are provided with unique information access tools. Confidentiality. Each party agrees that all confidential documents, work product and information (including all computer code, internal photographs of products, block diagrams, schematic diagrams, technical and/or user manuals, related materials, and the existence of this Agreement) received or otherwise obtained from the other party pursuant to this Agreement, whether before or after the Effective Date, will be, and will be deemed to have been, received in confidence and will be used only for the purpose of carrying out the obligations of, or as otherwise contemplated by, this Agreement. Test model E-TM1.1 was used to represent QPSK, test model E-TM3.2 to represent 16QAM and test model E-TM3.1 to represent 64QAM payload modulation. The setting with test model E-TM1.1 was found to be representative for all traffic scenarios when several settings with different modulations were compared to find a worst case setting. This setting was used for all measurements unless noted otherwise. The test object was powered with -48 VDC unless noted otherwise. All measurements were performed with the test object configured for maximum transmit power. Conducted measurements The EUT was mounted into a RBS 6202 cabinet and supplied by the cabinet’s internal -48 V DC. TX parameters were measured at port RF A. RX spurious emission conducted was measured at port RF B with port RF A activated with E-TM1.1. Port RF A was terminated into 50 ohm. Radiated measurements The test object was tested stand-alone. It was powered with -48 VDC. All measurements were performed with the test object configured for maximum transmitter output power at port RF A. Antenna port RF B was unterminated. Purpose of test The purpose of the tests is to verify compliance to the performance characteristics specified in applicable parts of FCC CFR 47.
