This Remote Radio Unit multi-Standard (RRUS 11 B12) is designed for use in 3GPP Long Term Evolution (LTE) within the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for the Universal Mobile Telephone System (UMTS 3G) mobile system standard (cellular telephone system). The transmitter will operate from 728 MHz to 746 MHz with 1.4, 3, 5, 10 and 15 MHz Channel Bandwidth. The receiver circuit supports 698 MHz to 716 MHz. This transceiver (RRUS) supports modulation type QPSK, 16QAM and 64QAM. The base station operates in the broadband PCS services as per 47 CFR Part 27 subpart H. It meets the requirements of 3GPP specification for operation in Universal Mobile Telephone System, UMTS 3G, in the radio access referred to as the Evolved UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network, E-UTRAN. This Remote Radio Unit multi-Standard (RRUS) will in normal mode operate at a nominal power of 30 watts at each of the output connectors. The Exhibit 8 user manuals submitted with this application is generic and may cover multiple products. This application is only valid for the model specified in the Exhibit 12 circuit description. Ericsson AB requests confidentiality under CFR 0.459 according to attached letter. We further certify that the applicant nor any party to the application is subject to a denial of Federal benefits, that includes FCC benefits, pursuant to section 5301 of the Anti-Drug abuse Act of 1988, 21 U.S.C. This due to the following reasons: Our base station equipment are non-consumer devices thus they are not sold to the general public. They are not serviceable by consumer but by us / our designated technicians. They are designed strictly based on the technical specifications of the international project 3GPP (the 3rd Generation Partnership Project). The competition in this field is very intense and a less advanced solution/design could get an unfair advantage by accessing the information as listed below from common domain. As we believe that we have implemented groundbreaking solutions and designs into our recent equipment compared to the previous equipment, the listed Exhibits/Items need to be protected from disclosure to our competitors in the industry. As the FCC/IC records have in-depth information and a very wide distribution, we believe that you can understand our concerns. We are strong in our belief that all vendors in the industry need to compete by their own merits. We regard these Exhibits/Items to be our intellectual property and therefore as confidential information. As our equipment are generally installed in restricted places, public access is not possible all thought some types of our equipment under certain circumstances can be installed in an unrestricted place, but our equipment are either key-locked or mast mounted and therefore can not be opened except by authorized personnel or inaccessible to general public. There are advanced technical and design solutions/information in the Exhibits/Items, as mentioned above, that we regard as Ericsson proprietary, with actual and potential patents pending. The information can be advantageous to our competitors as well as sources seeking ways to hack past the built in security functionality. These solutions or information thereof are not accessible even for our customers or partners unless non-disclosure agreements for particular item(s) have been signed. Confidential product information can be found in, but not necessarily limited to, internal photos of our equipment, block diagrams, schematics diagrams, and parts lists as well as certain documents, such as the user’s manuals. Those documents can only be accessible by the customers who purchase out BS and accept the conditions and therefore are provided with unique information access tools. Date Reference Page REPORT 2011-02-07 FX100254-F27 2 (6) FCC ID: TA8BKRC161241-1 Appendix 1 Operation mode during measurements The test object was powered with -48 VDC. Measurements were performed with both TRX RF chains activated and both TX transmitting at maximum nominal power the test models defined in 3GPP TS 36.141. Test model E-TM1.1 was used to represent QPSK, test model E-TM3.2 to represent 16QAM and test model E-TM3.1 to represent 64QAM payload modulation. The RF port not tested was via an attenuator terminated into 50 ohm. The setting maximum nominal output power 44.8 dBm (30 W) in channel bandwidth configuration 5 MHz transmitting E-TM1.1 was found to be representative for all traffic scenarios when several settings with the different modulations were tested to find the worst case setting. This setting was used for all measurements unless noted otherwise. Conducted measurements Complete TX measurements were done at connector RF A. Limited complementary TX measurements were done at connector RF B to verify identical performance for both transmitter chains. RX measurements were not applicable, the test object can not provide a stand-by mode. Both TX are always active. Radiated measurements During the measurements both output ports RF A and RF B were via RF attenuators and a directional coupler connected to functional test equipment outsite the shielded chamber for supervision of the transmitted signals. Purpose of test The purpose of the tests is to verify compliance to the performance characteristics specified in applicable items of FCC CFR 47. References Measurements were done according to relevant parts of the following standards: FCC CFR 47, part 27, October 2010 ANSI/TIA/EIA-603-B-2002 3GPP TS 36.141, Version 8.5.0 Date Reference Page REPORT 2011-02-07 FX100254-F27 3 (6) FCC ID: TA8BKRC161241-1 Appendix 1 Measurement equipment Measurement equipment Calibration Due SP number Test site Tesla 2012-10 503 881 Rohde & Schwarz FSQ 40 2011-07 504 143 Rohde & Schwarz FSIQ 40 2011-07 503 738 Rohde & Schwarz ESI 26 2011-08 503 292 High pass filter 1 – 15 GHz, Wainright 2011-07 504 199 HP filter3-18 GHz , RLC Electronics 2012-07 503 739 HP filter 18-26 GHz, RLC Electronics 2011-07 503 740 RF attenuator 2011-07 504 159 RF attenuator 2011-08 900 233 Boonton RF Peak power meter/analyzer 2011-10 503 144 Boonton Power sensor 56518-S/4 2012-10 503 145 Chase Bilog antenna CBL 6111A 2011-10 503 182 EMCO Horn Antenna 3115 2011-01 502 175 Std. gain horn mod. 20240-20 -- 503 674 MITEQ Low Noise Amplifier 2011-07 503 285 μComp Nordic, Low Noise Amplifier 2011-07 504 160 Climate chamber 2 2013-11 501 031 Multimeter Fluke 87 2011-03 502 190 Testo 635 temperature and humidity meter 2011-03 504 203 Testo 625 temperature and humidity meter 2011-06 504 188 Uncertainties Measurement and test instrument uncertainties are described in the quality assurance documentation ”SP-QD 10885”.
