Users Manual

The RE129 Glassbreak is a security sensor that detects the sound of breaking glass and sends alarm signals to the security panel. Features • Variable detection range of up to 20 feet • Low battery and tamper indication • VHB™ tape included for easy installation Enroll by placing the panel into wireless enrollment mode and removing the battery tab. Select sensitivity by adjusting the dipswitch. See table below for sensitivity settings. Select a mounting location at a height of at least 6.5 feet (2m) and no more than 20 feet (6m) from the window you wish to protect. Ensure the sensor has visual line-of-sight to all windows being protected. Use a glassbreak tester to confirm operation before permanently mounting using the mounting screws or VHB tape. Test the glassbreak to verify operation after enrollment and installation. Note, any glassbreak tester can be used. 1. The sensor is in test mode for 5 minutes after powered. When test mode is active, the LED will flash once per second. 2. Activate the glassbreak tester near the window you wish to protect. 3. If an alarm is detected, the LED will flash rapidly for 2 seconds and an alarm signal will be sent to the panel. If the sensor does not trip, check the sensitivity setting or relocate the sensor and retest. Use the panel installation guide to verify proper system setup. April 9, 2020 RE: Confidentiality Request for U5X-RE129/8310A-RE129 To Whom It May Concern: Pursuant to FCC 47 CRF 0.457(d) and 0.459 and IC RSP-100, Section 10, the applicant requests that a part of the subject FCC application be held confidential. Type of Confidentiality Requested Exhibit Short Term Permanent Block Diagrams Short Term External Photos Short Term Permanent* 1 Internal Photos Short Term Permanent Operation Description/Theory of Operation Short Term Permanent Parts List & Placement/BOM Short Term Permanent Tune-Up Procedure Short Term Permanent Schematics Short Term Test Setup Photos Short Term Permanent* User’s Manual *Note: ______(Insert Explanation as Necessary)______ Alula has spent substantial effort in developing this product and it is one of the first of its kind in industry. Having the subject information easily available to "competition" would negate the advantage they have achieved by developing this product. Not protecting the details of the design will result in financial hardship. Permanent Confidentiality: The applicant requests the exhibits listed above as permanently confidential be permanently withheld from public review due to materials that contain trade secrets and proprietary information not customarily released to the public. Short-Term Confidentiality: The applicant requests the exhibits selected above as short term confidential be withheld from public view for a period of ___(specify number of days not to exceed 180) 2 ___ days from the date of the Grant of Equipment Authorization and prior to marketing. This is to avoid premature release of sensitive information prior to marketing or release of the product to the public. Applicant is also aware that they are responsible to notify ACB in the event information regarding the product or the product is made available to the public. ACB will then release the documents listed above for public disclosure pursuant to FCC Public Notice DA 04-1705. 1 - The asterisked items (*) require further justification before permanent confidentiality will be allowed. These also currently require review by the FCC under their Permit-But-Ask policy before the grant is issued and can delay completion of an application. Further justification should be added to the note above. One such example for a potted device would be: “The EUT is FULLY potted using a non-removable epoxy based material. Removal of potting material causes irreparable damage to internal circuitry. See photographs exhibits that outline the device before and after potting.” 2 - Please refer to http://atcb.com/publicdocs/Memo-Short-Term-Vs-Standard-Confidentiality.pdf for complete details. NOTE for Industry Canada Applications: The applicant understands that until such time that IC distinguishes between Short Term and Permanent Confidentiality, either type of marked exhibit above will simply be marked Confidential when submitted to IC. Sincerely, By: __________________________ Paul Saldin, Vice President (Signature/Title 3 ) (Print name) 3 - Must be signed by applicant contact given for applicant on the FCC site, or by the authorized agent if an appropriate authorized agent letter has been provided. Letters should be placed on appropriate letterhead.

As such, it will always be at least 20cm from the user, and is thus exempt from SAR evaluation. RF Exposure Exemption (RSS-102, Section 2.5.2) Field strength measurements were taken at 3 meters. Because of the low duty cycle of this device, the 20dB duty cycle correction is allowed. Using the standard conversion from field strength, EIRP is calculated as follows: EIRP (dBm) = (E – 20) + 20log(3) – 104.8 From RSS-102, Section 2.5.2 Exemption Limits for Routine Evaluation – RF Exposure Evaluation “RF exposure evaluation is required if the separation distance between the user and/or bystander and the device’s radiating element is greater than 20 cm, except when the device operates as follows:  At or above 300 MHz and below 6 GHz and the source-based, time-averaged maximum e.i.r.p. of the device is equal to or less than 1.31 x 10 -2 ƒ 0.6834 W (adjusted for tune-up tolerance), where ƒ is in MHz.” Thus, the EIRP limit for exemption from RF exposure evaluation is calculated as follows: EIRP Limit (dBm) = 10log(1.31 x 10 -2 ƒ 0.6834 ) + 30 The table that follows will show that the device is exempt from RF exposure evaluation. The EUT was tested in the three orthogonal planes with the receive antenna in both polarities. The emissions were maximized; that is, the measurement antenna height was varied between 1 and 4 m, and the EUT was rotated through 360° on a rotating turntable until the maximum emissions were found. Both horizontal and vertical measurement antenna polarizations were used. A resolution bandwidth of 120 kHz was used for frequencies less than 1000 MHz, and a resolution bandwidth of 1 MHz was used for frequencies greater than or equal to 1000 MHz. The video bandwidth was set to a value at least three times greater than the resolution bandwidth.
