The public disclosure of this information might be harmful to the company and provide unjustified benefits to our competitors. The devices pictured in the documents “CHASERXR-internal pictures.pdf” are sealed units that cannot be opened after manufacturing without destroying the contents. Specifically in order to view inside the product to which this request refers, one would have to carry out the following steps: 1. Use a special key to remove the screws securing the cover. This special key is not available to the general public. Moreover, these screws have to be removed in a specific order not to cause irreparable damages. The information on the removal order is available to IDS GeoRadar and to authorized repair centers only. 2. Inside the unit, electromagnetic absorbers cannot be removed without damage and will have to be replaced with new ones when re-assembling. This material is custom built and not available to the public or to a competitor. 3. De-solder the transmitter AND the receiver from the antenna flares to initiate access to certain electronics of the antenna. Then carefully disconnect and withdraw the assemblies from the shield /construct assembly. When these steps are done improperly the electronics can be severely damaged. IDS GeoRadar has never released public instructions on how to disassemble its units and does not answer questions on how to do so. This information is kept internal to the company. If a unit arrives at the company's repair facility showing evidence of such tampering, the company does not repair it, but charges the customer for a new unit plus freight costs. The Commission's posting of the photographs as well as of the schematics and components list, would allow a competitor to bypass this difficult and expensive disassembly. From the photographs, a competitor can also estimate: IDS GeoRadar Headquarters Via A. LIMITS per 2.5.2 Exemption Limits for Routine Evaluation – RF Exposure Evaluation RF exposure evaluation is required if the separation distance between the user and/or bystander and the device’s radiating element is greater than 20 cm, except when the device operates as follows: • below 20 MHz and the source-based, time-averaged maximum e.i.r.p. of the device is equal to or less than 1 W (adjusted for tune-up tolerance); • at or above 20 MHz and below 48 MHz and the source-based, time-averaged maximum e.i.r.p. of the device is equal to or less than 4.49/f 0.5 W (adjusted for tune-up tolerance), where ƒ is in MHz; • at or above 48 MHz and below 300 MHz and the source-based, time-averaged maximum e.i.r.p. of the device is equal to or less than 0.6 W (adjusted for tune-up tolerance); • at or above 300 MHz and below 6 GHz and the source-based, time-averaged maximum EUT: Chaser XR Model: CHASERXR FCC ID: UFW-CHASERXR IC:8991A-CHASERXR Report Number: 0048-230710-01-FCC-IC Page 43 Advanced Compliance Laboratory, Inc. 210 Cougar Court, Hillsborough, NJ 08844, Tel: (908) 927 9288 e.i.r.p. of the device is equal to or less than 1.31 x 10 -2 ƒ 0.6834 W (adjusted for tune-up tolerance), where ƒ is in MHz; • at or above 6 GHz and the source-based, time-averaged maximum e.i.r.p. of the device is equal to or less than 5 W (adjusted for tune-up tolerance). RESULTS No non-compliance noted. For GPR UWB Transmitter only: 1-mW Test Exemption: Per § 1.1307(b)(3)(i)(A), a single RF source is exempt RF device (from the requirement to show data demonstrating compliance to RF exposure limits, as previously mentioned) if the available maximum time-averaged power is no more than 1 mW, regardless of separation distance. This exemption applies to all operating configurations and exposure conditions, for the frequency range 100 kHz to 100 GHz, regardless of fixed, mobile, or portable device exposure conditions. For this EUT, max emission level is under the 0dBm limit set in Part 15F. No RF hazard need to be concerned. The max. power density can be obtain by using the max.
