This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If any part of the equipment is returned within this time and found by MESA LABS to be defective in workmanship or material, it will be replaced or repaired, free of charge and returned F.O.B. your plant. Any equipment or part thereof so replaced or repaired shall be warranted by MESA LABS for the remainder of the original warranty period. All replacements or repairs necessitated by inadequate preventative maintenance, or by normal wear and usage, or deterioration under unsuitable environmental conditions shall be at Buyer’s expense. Buyer will pay normal DataTrace service charge for evaluation of returned equipment not found to be defective. MESA LABS shall not be obligated to pay any charges incurred by Buyer except as may be agreed upon in writing in advance by MESA LABS. B. SYSTEM PERFORMANCE: MESA LABS warrants that the DataTrace ® System will meet the specifications as defined in the literature and agrees to correct any equipment which Buyer can demonstrate does not meet the applicable specifications, provided written notice is given to MESA LABS within 12 months from date of shipment of the System. RF Exposure The MPE distance will be calculated for the worst case of 100% transmitter duty cycle, transmitter power of 4 dBm ( 3.162 mW), and 3.3 dBi (2.14) antenna gain. For an isotropic radiator, the surface area of a sphere can be used to determine the area over which the transceiver energy is radiated. The surface area of a sphere = 4*π*radius 2 In the case where there is an antenna gain, the worst case energy density is increased by the antenna gain. In this case, the exposure level can be calculated as follows: Exposure Level (mW/cm 2 ) = (P*C*G)/( 4*π*D 2 ) P (Transmitter output power) = 2.512 mW G (Antenna gain) = 2.14 D (Distance) = 20 cm C (Duty cycle) = 1 For this transmitter: Exposure Level (mW/cm 2 ) = (2.512*1*2.14)/( 4*π*20 2 ) = 0.0011 mW/cm 2 It should be noted that the above calculations are based on absolute worst-case scenarios that will not occur in normal use. The actual duty cycle is never more than 2%.

The system consists of a host, the MPRF-H, and data loggers, the MPRF-L. The MPRF-L can measure parameters such as pressure or temperature and send the data to the MPRF-H via the Zigbee radio. Communication between the MPRF-H and MPRF-L is accomplished using a Zigbee transceiver in each unit. The same transceiver PCB is used in both units. The MPRF-H can be used to program the MPRF-L and transfers collected data to a computer via the USB port. The MPRF-L is powered by a lithium 3.6 V battery and the MPRF-H receives power from the computer USB port. The MPRF-H has an external 3.3 dBi monopole antenna with a reverse SMA connector. The antenna of the MPRF-L is etched into the PCB. This report covers the Zigbee transceiver subject to FCC Part 15, Subpart C, Paragraph 247. The Zigbee transceiver uses 15 channels in the 2400 to 2483.5 MHz band. Below is a table of the channel frequencies.
