Description The ZigBee to RS485 Bridge (ZRB2) provides a cost-effective path to wirelessly enable many devices which still use wired commutations channels. The wireless side of the ZRB2 employs an RF transceiver in the 2.4 GHz ISM band based on the ZigBee IEEE 802.15.4 wireless network protocol. The wired side of the ZRB2 communicates in RS485 full or half duplex differential modes (i.e. RS485 or RS422). Features • FCC (V8NZRB1000141) and IC (7737A-ZRB1000141) certified • Operational Range: ~1000 feet (LOS) ZigBee to RS485 Bridge (ZRB2) Users Manual 2. Electromagnetic Compatibility Criteria for Intentional Radiators § 15.247(b) RF Exposure RF Exposure Requirements: §1.1307(b)(1) and §1.1307(b)(2): Systems operating under the provisions of this section shall be operated in a manner that ensures that the public is not exposed to radio frequency energy levels in excess of the Commission’s guidelines. RF Radiation Exposure Limit: §1.1310: As specified in this section, the Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) Limit shall be used to evaluate the environmental impact of human exposure to radiofrequency (RF) radiation as specified in Sec. 1.1307(b), except in the case of portable devices which shall be evaluated according to the provisions of Sec. 2.1093 of this chapter. MPE Limit Calculation: EUT’s operating frequencies @ 2400-2483.5 MHz; highest conducted power = 18.15dBm (peak) therefore, Limit for Uncontrolled exposure: 1 mW/cm 2 or 10 W/m 2 EUT maximum antenna gain = 5.3 dBi. Equation from page 18 of OET 65, Edition 97-01 S = PG / 4R 2 or R = √PG / 4S where, P = Power Input to antenna (31.62mW) G = Antenna Gain (3.39 numeric) R = 20cm S = 79.43 * 3.39 / 4R 2 (20) 2 S = 0.0536 mW/cm 2
