ELECTRICAL RATINGS Do not exceed the maximum electrical ratings of the WPC-04R. Install a 20Amp 120VAC Circuit Breaker in the Breaker Panel for connection to the Time Clock Input. This Circuit Breaker is also used for Light Input. Refer to pages 4 and 5 for installation instructions. Light circuit is rated for 8Amp 120VAC Max. Basic safety precautions should be observed when operating the WPC-04R product and other associated equipment. 1. A qualified electrician must install the WPC-04R in accordance to the National and Local Electrical Codes. 2. The WPC-04R must not be less then 5 feet (3 meters in Canada) from inside edge of pool. ONLY USE COPPER CONDUCTORS. 3. Do not exceed the maximum ratings of individual components, wiring devices, and current carrying capacity of conductors. 4. For the bonding, grounding, installing, and wiring of underwater lights to the WPC-04R, refer to Article 680 of the National Electrical Code or Article 68 of the Canadian Electrical Code. 5. This device should never operate an equipment that could cause property damage, bodily injury, or death should it be activated unexpectedly. 6. Never allow children to operate the WPC-04R unsupervised. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION http://www.fiberstars.com 79-15103-00 REV. B Page 4 of 11 Power Connections: To wire the WPC-04R use insulated COPPER wire only, 12 gauge m Run a Β½β to ΒΎβ conduit from the ma breaker panel to the WPC-04R. Pul appropriate wires from the main breaker panel to the WPC-04R unit. To make power connections remove 3/8 inch insulation from wire ends. Insert the bare end of wires under the pressure plate of terminals (Power Input, HOT Use 1/8-in. flat head screwdriver to tighten terminal screws firmly (4.4 lb minimum). Connect the house comm to the Power Inputs NEUTRAL terminal. Connect another HOT wire the Timeclocks T/C POWER term Connect a house common to the Timeclocks T/C NEUTRAL. The WPC-04R is housed in a Type 3R rainproof enclosure and can be mounted anywhere between the pool equipment and the breaker panel. WIRING INSTRUCTIONS FOLLOW PROPER WIRING PRACTICES IN ACCORDANCE WITH ALL LOCAL REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS. B Page 5 of 11 to the LIGHT GROUND LIGHT NEUTRAL LIGHT HOT Hooking up Lights to Circuit 1 To connect a lighting product to the C 1 switch, pull wires from the product WPC-04R through conduits connected to the bottom of the WPC-04R. As illustrated, connect the light that will be operated by the Rocker Switch to the Light Hot terminal. Connect the Neutral to the Light Neutral terminal. B Page 6 of 11 240VAC PUMP SECONDARY PRIMARY CONNECTING A 240VAC PUMP Connect the 240VAC pump to the relay as illustrated. Connect the Line Power to a 240VAC Circuit Breaker on the breaker panel. Circuit Breaker should be rated to correspond to Horsepower and Amperes rating of Pump being used. NOT TO EXCEED 1.5HP 120V/3HP 240V β 30Amps. http://www.fiberstars.com 79-15103-00 REV. B Page 7 of 11 Flathead Screwdriver Repeater Mounting The WPC-04R is equipped with a signal repeater that can be mounted up to 10 feet from the WPC-04R unit. This repeater receives signals from the wireless remote and sends that signal to the WPC-04R via the 10 foot cable. Establish a location for the Repeater that is in line of sight from where the wireless remote will be used most frequently and that is no more then 75 feet from furthest where the remote will be used. NOTE: If extension is needed, use Fiberstars part number 94-15098-00 and follow installation instructions supplied with the Repeater Extension. To mount the Repeater, carefully insert a small flathead screwdriver into groove between the Dome and Base apprβ¦
