Userís Guide MBP11 Baby Monitor The features described in this user's guide are subject to modifications without prior notice. Welcome... to your new Motoro la Baby Monitor! Thank you for purchasing the MBP11. Now you c an hear your baby sleeping in the other room. Please retain your original dated sales receipt for your records. For warranty service of your Motorola product, you will need to provide a copy of your dated sales receipt to confirm warranty status. Registration is not required for warranty coverage.For product-related questions, please call: US and Canada 1-888-331-3383On the Web: www.motorola.com This User's Guide provides you with all the information you need to get the most from your product.Before you can use the baby monitor, we recommend you insert and fully charge the battery in the parent unit, so that it continues to work if you disconnect it from the mains power to carry it to another location. Please read the Safety Instructions on page 6 before you install the units.Got everything?ï 1 x Parent unit (MBP11PU)ï 1 x Baby unit (MBP11BU)ï 1 x Rechargeable Ni-MH battery pack for the Parent unitï 1 x Power adapter for the Parent unitï 1 x Power adapter for the Baby unit Overview of your Parent unit 5 6 4213 1 Sound Level LED 3 GREEN and 2 RED LEDs turn on and off in real time to indicate the noise level in baby's room. When audio is being picked up by microphone of baby unit, the LEDs light up to in indicate audio level with reference to the sensitivity setting. The more LEDs light up, the stronger the sound is.No LED lights up means the sound level in baby's room does not exceed the thresholds set through the parent unit.The LEDs are also used for indicating the speaker volume setting on parent unit. The louder you set the speaker volume, the more LEDs light up. 2 Link Indicator On when the parent unit is powered on and linked to the baby unit.Flashes when the parent unit is out of range from baby unit.Off when the parent unit is powered off. 3Power Press and hold to power on/off the parent unit. 4 Volume +Press to increase the speaker volume. 5Volume - Press to decrease the speaker volume. 6 Charging Indicator On steadily when in charging mode. Flashes when low battery is detected.NOTEOff even if connected with power adapter but without battery pack installed. Overview of your Baby unit Important guidelines for installing our Baby Monitorï To use your baby unit and parent unit together, you must be able to establish a radio link between them, and the range will be affected by environmental conditions. ï Any large metal object, like a refrigerator, a mirror, a filing cabinet, a me tallic doors or reinforced concrete, between the baby and parent unit may block the radio signal. ï The signal strength may also be reduced by other solid structures, like walls, or by radio or electrical equipment, such as TV's, computers, cordless or mobile phones, fluorescent lights or dimmer switches. ï If the signal is poor, try moving the parent and/or the baby unit to different positions in the rooms. ï If the signal is poor, try moving the parent and/or the baby unit to different positions in the rooms. 1 Power Indicator On when the parent unit is switched on. Therefore, always read the instructions in this User's Guide carefully before using the device.ï Determine a location for the baby monitor that will provide the best audio reception of your baby in his crib. ï Place the baby monitor on a flat surface, such as a dresser, bureau, or shelf. ï NEVER place the baby monitor or its cord within the crib. ï Secure the cord to the wall to keep cord away from the baby's reach. ï Adult assembly is required. Keep small parts away from children when assembling. ï This product is not a toy. Do n't allow children to play with it. ï This baby monitor is not a substitute for responsible adult supervision. ï Keep this User's Guide for future reference.ï Do not cover the baby monitor with a towel or blanket.ï Never use extension cords with power adapters. The device does not use the provisions of 47CFR 15.323 (c) (6), random waiting mechanism is not used in this system. 2. The provisions of 47CFR 15.323 (c) (10) and 47CFR 15.323 (c) (11) are not used to extend the range of spectrum occupied over space or time for the purpose of denying fair access to spectrum to other devices. 3. Only the parent unit will act as the initiating device, which will initiate the establishment of the duplex connection. 4. The device complies with the provisions of 47CFR 15.319(f). The FCC identifier for a parent unit will be placed in the battery compartment and the following requirements are confirmed to meet: a) The FCC identifier will visible at the time of purchase, by either of the following approaches:  Marketing the device without the battery installed, or  Providing instruction (stated on the box, user manual, or additional documentation) directing the user as to where to find the FCC label. b) The user accessible area will not require any special tools for access and the FCC label will not be placed on a removable part.
