Plots of Duty Cycle The plot below shows the waveform characteristics of the signal used in the SAR measurement. The pulse duration corresponds to a DL:UL symbol ratio of 29:18 and control symbols are not active. The time vector plots are shown as below. The plot A is used to get the frame length of test signal and the plot B is used to get the time of UL data symbols. Since there was no energy in the control symbols, the effective power is only across 15 data symbols. The calculation of duty cycle is as below: Duty Cycle = 15 data symbols UL time / Frame Length x 100 % PUSC, QPSK 1/2, BW 5MHz PUSC, QPSK 1/2, BW 10MHz Duty Cycle = Traffic Symbols / Frame Size = (Mark 3 – Mark 2) / (Mark 4 – Mark 1) x 100% = (21.87 – 20.29) / (24.98 – 19.97) x 100% = 31.5 % Duty Cycle = Traffic Symbols / Frame Size = (Mark 3 – Mark 2) / (Mark 4 – Mark 1) x 100% = (21.87 – 20.29) / (24.98 – 19.97) x 100% = 31.5 % A Offset 12.5 dB LVL Att 30 dB * Ref 30 dBm TRG * Center 2.593 GHz1 ms/ RBW 3 MHz VBW 3 MHz SWT 10 ms 3DB 1 AP VIEW -70 -60 -50 -40 -30 -20 -10 0 10 20 30 1 Marker 1 [T1 ] -41.25 dBm 19.970000 ms 2 Marker 2 [T1 ] 10.11 dBm 20.290000 ms 3 Marker 3 [T1 ] -41.39 dBm 21.870000 ms 4 Marker 4 [T1 ] -37.72 dBm 24.980000 ms TRG -20 dBm Date: 6.MAY.2011 16:00:46 A Offset 12.5 dB LVL Att 30 dB * Ref 30 dBm TRG * Center 2.593 GHz1 ms/ 3DB RBW 3 MHz VBW 3 MHz SWT 10 ms 1 AP VIEW -70 -60 -50 -40 -30 -20 -10 0 10 20 30 1 Marker 1 [T1 ] -40.89 dBm 19.970000 ms 2 Marker 2 [T1 ] 7.74 dBm 20.290000 ms 3 Marker 3 [T1 ] -42.25 dBm 21.870000 ms 4 Marker 4 [T1 ] -41.26 dBm 24.980000 ms TRG -20 dBm Date: 6.MAY.2011 15:52:46 SPORTON INTERNATIONAL INC. Output power listed is EIRP. SAR compliance has been established for direct laptop and USB cable plug-in configurations with a separation distance of 5 mm between the particular dongle orientation and flat phantom. The highest reported SAR value is: 0.92 W/kg. Endusers must be provided transmitter operating conditions for satisfying RF exposure compliance.
