It can be also used in conjunction with compatible booster-packs to enhance the peripherals available in the system. The board features on-board emulation using FTDI device and has an array of sensors for an out of the box experience. This board can be directly connected to the PC using software development platforms including CCS and IAR. CC3200-LAUNCHXLA Operating Description: The CC3200-LAUNCHXLA is an evaluation board for the CC3200 device from Texas Instruments. The CC3200 device is an ARM Cortex M4 microcontroller with an on-chip 802.11bgn Wi-Fi Network Processor. The ARM Cortex M4 microcontroller is available for application development and therefore allows a single chip embedded Wi-Fi solution. The CC3200-LAUNCHXLA evaluation board allows a developer to evaluate the CC3200 and to execute application code on the on-chip microcontroller. The CC3200-LAUNCHXLA interfaces to a PC host using a USB cable. The CC3200-LAUNCHXLA evaluation board comes with a software development kit that allows the developer to write and execute application code to evaluate the Wi-Fi function and features of the CC3200 device. The user can also execute application code written for their specific application. The code is downloaded to the CC3200-LAUNCHXLA on board flash memory through the USB cable. The on-chip microcontroller executes this code and can issue high level commands and associated data to the on-chip 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Network processor. The on-chip 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Network processor will then translate the commands and data into the associated 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi protocol and transmit them using the on board antenna or through an optional cable connector for conductive testing.
