4225 Executive Square, Suite 430 La Jolla, CA 92037 www.micropowerapp.com Mono Camera Module Installation Guide This document outlines requirements and guidelines for installing the Mono Camera Module P/N 370-00012-01 into MicroPower equipment. The Mono Camera Module is not approved for individual sale, and must always be installed and operated according to the following requirements. Labeling. The equipment into which the Mono Camera Module is installed must contain an external label. The label shall contain the following information: Contains FCC ID: ZHX-370-00012-01 This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC rules subject to the following two conditions: 1) This device may not cause harmful interference. 2) This device must accept all interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. Antennas: The equipment into which the Mono Camera Module is installed must satisfy the following antenna requirements: 1) Only antennas listed in the current FCC filing may be used with the equipment. 2) The antennas must be attached to the equipment with unique connectors, or the equipment must be professionally installed by trained personnel such that compliance with the FCC filing is maintained. Shielding: The enclosure for the Mono Camera Module shall not be modified or removed.

MPT 2500 Rugged-i™ Solar Wireless Video Camera & MPT2700 MiniHub™ Wireless Video Hub Quick Start Guide MicroPower Technologies, Inc. 4225 Executive Square, Suite 430 La Jolla, CA 92037 858-768-5780 www.micropowerapp.com Installation Guide v1.1©2011 MicroPower Technologies, Inc.1 Before installation, please refer to the Read Me First documentation included with this product for installation safety information. Step 1: Setting up the MiniHub Wireless Video Hub MiniHub Rear View 1.1.Connect the two (2) 2.4 GHz purple antennas and the one (1) 900 MHz yellow antenna using the corresponding color-coded indicators above each antenna connector on the MiniHub. 1.2.Connect the AC power cable to the MiniHub and plug into a power source. 1.3.Connect your mouse and keyboard (not included) to the MiniHub using any of the USB connectors. 1.4.Connect your monitor (not included) to the rear of the MiniHub. 1.5.Power on the MiniHub using the toggle power button on the rear of the unit. 1.6.Proceed to Step 2: Setting up the Rugged-I Camera. Step 2: Setting up the Rugged-i Camera WARNING: Do not connect the camera batteries until AFTER the antennas have been connected. The Rugged-i camera ships with a fully charged battery pack. Rugged-i Side View Rugged-i Rear View 2.1.Connect the shorter 2.4 GHz antenna (purple) and the taller 900 MHz antenna (yellow) using the corresponding color-coded indicators next to each antenna connector on the top of the camera housing. 2.2.NOTE: The camera ships with a fully charged battery pack, but should the camera require charging, please follow this step. Open the camera housing using the safety latch at the rear of the unit. Attach the battery charger cord to the battery connector. Charge the battery until the charge completion light is illuminated. After charging, disconnect the battery charger cord and re-connect the battery connector. The LED indicator light should glow red when the battery is connected. Close the camera housing then lock the safety latch. 2.3.Attach the mounting arm to the bottom of the Rugged-i camera housing using the included hardware. Installation Guide v1.1©2011 MicroPower Technologies, Inc.2 2.4.Mount the camera in the desired surveillance location with the mounting arm, then point the camera to the desired surveillance position. The camera should be placed in an area which receives an adequate amount of direct sunlight throughout the day, however the solar panels do not require alignment with the sun. The locking mounting bracket will allow the camera to remain in this position after it is installed. Step 3: Configuring the MiniHub Wireless Video Hub to View Video 3.1.After the MiniHub is powered on and the Rugged-i camera(s) has been placed in its desired location, the MiniHub can be configured. 3.2.On the MiniHub computer desktop, launch the Demo icon located in the top left corner. MiniHub Computer Desktop 3.3.This will launch the camera association input window. At the “enter password” prompt, enter the password, demo. 3.4.At the “enter wifi channel” prompt, enter an available wireless channel. Camera Association Input Window 3.5.The hub will then begin the camera association process and the camera image will appear on the screen. Installation Guide v1.1©2011 MicroPower Technologies, Inc.3 Camera Image Window Step 4: Adjusting the Camera Image Camera Lens Close-up View 4.1While viewing the camera image in the MiniHub camera image window, adjustments can be made to the camera’s focal length, iris or focus. 4.2.Open the camera housing using the safety latch at the rear of the unit. The camera imager is located just behind the housing window. 4.2.1.To adjust focal length, turn the focal length locking knob counter-clockwise to unlock. Rotate the focal length adjustment ring at the rear of the lens to set. Turn the focal length locking knob clockwise to lock back into place. 4.2.2.To adjust iris, turn the iris locking knob counter-clockwise to unlock. Slide the iris locking knob to the right or left to set. Turn the iris locking knob clockwise to lock back into place. 4.2.3.To focus, turn the focus locking knob counter-clockwise to unlock. Rotate the focus adjustment ring at the front of the lens to set. Turn focus locking knob clockwise to lock in place. 4.3.After the imager adjustments have been completed, close the camera housing and lock the latch into place. 4.4.After this step, setup is complete and the Rugged-i camera is ready for use. These provide a rugged, weatherproof solution that ensures a quality long-term connection in outdoor environments. To protect against unauthorized antenna connections, the Cameras will always be installed by trained professionals. The target markets for the MPT2500 camera are commercial and industrial surveillance applications. These markets are serviced by systems integrators that provide installation and setup services to the end customers. The price point of the camera system is significantly greater than comparable consumer grade products, and therefore beyond the price range of a retail consumer. The MPT2500 is marketed exclusively to these systems integrators and distributors, and is not sold directly to end-user customers through retail outlets, or mail order. The systems integrators employ trained installation professionals. Only these trained installers are given access to test modes that report signal strength and error rate statistics. The modular transmitter must have its own RF shielding. This is intended to ensure that the module does not have to rely upon the shielding provided by the device into which it is installed in order for all modular transmitter emissions to comply with Part 15 limits. It is also intended to prevent coupling between the RF circuitry of the module and any wires or circuits in the device into which the module is installed. Such coupling may result in non-compliant operation. Our equipment meets this by completely enclosing the module in an aluminum case. Noise filters are also utilized on certain signals to limit unintentional radiation. 2. The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs (if such inputs are provided) to ensure that the module will comply with Part 15 requirements under conditions of excessive data rates or over-modulation. Our equipment meets this by exercising complete control of the rate at which data is transmitted. That is, the data rate or modulation cannot be modified by changing any inputs to the module. 3. The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation. This is intended to ensure that the module will comply with Part 15 requirements regardless of the design of the power supplying circuitry in the device into which the module is installed. Our equipment meets this by utilizing its own internal power supply regulation circuits. Module operation is consistent with input voltage ranging from 4-8 Volts. 4. The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204(c). The antenna must either be permanently attached or employ a “unique” antenna coupler (at all connections between the module and the antenna, including the cable). The “professional installation” provision of Section 15.203 may not be applied to modules. Our module will not be offered for sale as a stand-alone product, and will always be integrated into MicroPower products only. Those products will either satisfy the unique connector requirement, or be professionally installed. Requirements for installing the module into a MircoPower product are described in the Mono Camera Module Installation Guide. 5. The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration, i.e., the module must not be inside another device during testing. This is intended to demonstrate that the module is capable of complying with Part 15 emission limits regardless of the device into which it is eventually installed. Unless the transmitter module will be battery powered, it must comply with the AC line conducted requirements found in Section 15.207. AC or DC power lines and data input/output lines connected to the module must not contain ferrites, unless they will be marketed with the module (see Section 15.27(a)). The length of these lines shall be length typical of actual use or, if that length is unknown, at least 10 centimeters to insure that there is no coupling between the case of the module and supporting equipment. Any accessories, peripherals, or support equipment connected to the module during testing shall be unmodified or commercially available (see Section 15.31(i)). Our equipment is tested in a typical final product system. The module will not be offered for sale, and only be integrated into MicroPower products, according to the Mono Camera Module Installation Guide. 6. The modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number, and, if the FCC ID is not visible when the module is installed inside another device, then the outside of the device into which the module is installed must also display a label referring to the enclosed module. This exterior label can use wording such as the following: “Contains Transmitter Module FCC ID: XYZMODEL1” or “Contains FCC ID: XYZMODEL1.” Any similar wording that expresses the same meaning may be used. The Grantee may either provide such a label, an example of which must be included in the application for equipment authorization, or, must provide adequate instructions along with the module which explain this requirement. In the latter case, a copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. Our equipment meets this by affixing compliant labels to both the module, and the exterior of the final product(s). 7. The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. A copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. For example, there are very strict operational and timing requirements that must be met before a transmitter is authorized for operation under Section 15.231. For instance, data transmission is prohibited, except for operation under Section 15.231(e), in which case there are separate field strength level and timing requirements.
