Users Manual

• This module meets all required modular approval justification except having its own RF shielding and therefore is limited. The grantee will be required to file a Class II Permissive Change for each host specific installation. The following tests should be preformed to demonstrate continued compliance for the module within the host. MODLIM PAG TEST PLAN Test DescriptionFCC Part 15 Clause AC Power Line Conducted Emissions§ 15.207 Field Strength of the Fundamental§ 15.225 a) Field strength of spurious emissions§ 15.225 d) Field strength of spurious emissions§ 15.209 •This module, when installed in a host, utilizes the same electrical and mechanical configuration, including identical module design, grounding scheme, and enclosure type. While the physical location of the module within the host may vary, the placement differences do not affect the overall RF characteristics of the module. •The module is installed using consistent integration practices, and the surrounding host conditions remain equivalent across all configurations. This ensures that RF exposure, emissions performance, and compliance characteristics are maintained. MODLIM COMPLIANCE METHOD 3 This module is intended for use solely within the beneficiary's equipment and is not intended for sale to other OEMs. It is not intended for users to add or remove this device. Installation is restricted to our manufacturing plants or service technicians. The diagram below illustrates the integration of the module into the housing. DETAILED MODULE INTEGRATION INSTRUCTIONS Module in enclosure, bottom view Module in enclosure, bottom/side view Module in enclosure, top view, no cover 4 The enclosure is then installed into the host. Module has its own power supply regulation for the transceiver. The antenna is built into the PCB layout and cannot be interchanged with other antennas. DETAILED MODULE INTEGRATION INSTRUCTIONS CONT. Module in enclosure FCC Compliance Statement: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. This device contains license-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development, Canada’s license-exempt RSS(s). Operation is subject to the following two conditions: 1. This device may not cause harmful interference. 2. This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation Notice: Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly approved by the manufacturer could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. RF Exposure – This equipment complies with FCC and ISED RF exposure limits for an uncontrolled environment. Modular transmitter is only FCC authorized for the specific rule parts listed on the grant. Integration of this module into a host requires continued compliance to FCC and ISED rules for labeling by providing a physical or e-label stating, “Contains FCC ID: 239D8341 IC: 10229A-239D8341”. Cover Letter(s)

RE FCC ID: ZKJ-239D8341 To the certification reviewer: We are hereby applying for limited modular approval of the above-referenced FCC ID, based on compliance with most of the criteria as detailed below. Sincerely, Steve Recio Executive Director, Hardware and Power Electronics Part 15 Unlicensed Single Modular Transmitter Approval Justification per 15.212 Requirement per 15.212 YES/NO reference (i) The radio elements of the modular transmitter must have their own RF shielding. NO There is not shielding for the transmitter - Requesting limited modular approval (ii) The modular transmitter must have buffered modulation/data inputs (if such inputs are provided. YES All modulation and data inputs are buffered by circuitry on the transmitter chip (iii) The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation. YES Power supply regulation is provided by circuitry on the module regulated to 5V+/- 5% (iv) The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna and transmission system requirements of §§ 15.203, 15.204(b) and 15.204(c). YES The antenna is built into the PCB layout and cannot be interchanged with other antenna’s. Only this antenna can be used per it’s design. (v) The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration, i.e., the module must not be inside another device during testing for compliance with Part 15 parameters. YES Module was tested stand alone (vi) The modular transmitter must be equipped with either a permanently affixed label or must be capable of electronically displaying its FCC identification number. If the FCC ID is not visible when the module is installed inside another device, then the outside of the device into which the module is installed must also display a label referring to the enclosed module. YES The FCC identification number will be on the silkscreen of the PCB of the board and/or a …
