USER GUIDE AND WARRANTY INFORMATION HX-P540 HEY. HAVE WE SEEN YOU HERE BEFORE? PACKAGE CONTENTS STUFF THE GOVERNMENT MAKES US SAY ONE YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY A MESSAGE FROM THE ENVIRONMENT STUFF OUR LAWYERS MAKE US SAY CONTROL YOUR DESTINY...OR AT LEAST YOUR SPEAKER BLUETOOTH ® CONNECTION: IT’S A SETUP HELLO? SPEAKERPHONE? YES! THE VOICE FROM WITHIN COMING CLEAN HOOKING UP OLD SCHOOL AUDIO, JACK ALLOW US TO SHED SOME LIGHT JUST CHARGE IT User Manual Charging Cord Speaker Pouch Language Selector Pin Charging the speaker is so easy you’ve probably figured it out by now, but just in case, you’ve got two options: you can charge it using your computer or a wall outlet. The Rewind needs about 2 hours of me time to be fully charged for 8 hours of party time. 1. Power button, press and hold for 3 seconds to power on. 2. Push it to play, push it again to pause. 3. Turn the music up or down. 4. Skip back a track or jam on to the next song. 5. Lets you know when Bluetooth is paired. 6. Check out how much juice is in the battery. 7. The power cord goes here. 8. Here’s where you hook it up old-school. 9. Toggle between languages here. 10. Language selector pin. 1. The cord that came with the speaker—the one with the USB on one end and the Micro USB on the other—will work with your computer. 2. If you want to use the wall outlet, you’ll need to pick up a power cord with a Micro USB the next time you’re at the store, or use any USB AC adapter, including the one for your cell. Wall adapter not included 3 5 2 6 1 7 8 4 9 10 Flashing Red What It Looks Like CHARGE What It Means Low Battery RED (w hen charging)Charging OFF (when plugged in)Ready to Party Quick Flash BLUEPairing Mode Slow Flash BLUEConnected REDLine-In Mode Like any amazing couple, this one starts with a connection—one between your device and the speaker’s Bluetooth. Here’s how it works: 1. Make sure the smartphone, tablet or computer you’re using with the speaker has Bluetooth. 2. Turn on the speaker and look for the little blinking light. 3. Do whatever your device needs you to do on its end. 4. Look for Jam Rewind in your device’s Bluetooth list or click YES 5. Now hit PLAY on your speaker and crank it up—or down if you’re lame. The device and Bluetooth will find each other every time just as long as the speaker is set to Bluetooth and your device’s Bluetooth is, you know—on. If you’re connecting to a computer, you may have some extra steps on that end. You’ll have to get that information from the computer company. Depending on your device you may be prompted to enter a pairing code. If prompted enter “0000” as the code. Press and hold PLAY/PAUSE for 3 seconds to activate pairing mode. Note: If you turn on your Rewind but haven’t started the party yet, it will automatically power off after 2 minutes of unpaired inactivity. When friends call asking to join the party—and you know they will—answer the phone without disconnecting from your JAM Rewind. Yes, that’s right. Your speaker is a speakerphone too. How amazing is that? Here’s how it works: 1. Make sure your phone and speaker are connected through Bluetooth. 2. Answering and ending a call works the same way: simply click the PLAY/PAUSE button on your Rewind. 3. If you’d rather not talk, hold down the PLAY/PAUSE button on your Rewind for three seconds to ignore the call. THE COOLEST PART: The Rewind knows when a call is coming in and pauses the music before ringing. When you hang up, the music starts where it left off—and so does the party. If it’s you making the call, just start dialing from your phone, and the Rewind automatically does its hands-free thing. Isn’t it refreshing to know your speaker totally gets you? When your JAM Rewind isn’t rocking out, it can tell you all sorts of things it’s doing: when it’s powering on, ready to pair, paired, maximum volume, charging, incoming call, call ended, call rejected, and powering off. Just like the global gadget it is, your speaker toggles between several languages or no language at all. Your speaker can parlay with you in English, Spanish, French, or Portuguese. But, making the change between language and tone is as simple a poking a paperclip, safety pin, or the pin included into the small hole on the bottom. Click though until the speaker starts speaking your language. A soft, dry towel is all you need to clean off your speaker. Using water, harsh cleaners, or anything else only starts messing with the mechanics inside. So, yeah, don’t do it. 1. Plug one end of the cord into the speaker and the other into the headphone jack on your device. 2. Turn on the speaker. 3. Hit PLAY on your speaker and crank it up—or down if you’re lame. You’ll have to play and pause the music from your device, not your speaker. No problem. You’re there anyway, right? FCC Disclaimer: Note: This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules. EXPOSURE EVALUATION OF PORTABLE OR MOBILE DEVICES Human exposure to RF emissions from portable devices (47 CFR §2.1093), as defined by the FCC, must be evaluated with respect to the FCC-adopted limits for SAR. Evaluation of mobile devices, as defined by the FCC, may also be performed with respect to SAR limits, but in such cases it is usually simpler and more cost-effective to evaluate compliance with respect to field strength or power density limits. For certain devices that are designed to be used in both mobile and portable configurations similar to those described in 47 CFR §2.1091(d)(4), such as certain desktop phones and wireless modem modules, compliance for mobile configurations is also satisfied when the same device is evaluated for SAR compliance in portable configurations. 2.SAR TEST EXCLUSION THRESHOLD FOR 100MHz to 6GHz and ≤50mm The 1-g and 10-g SAR test exclusion thresholds for 100 MHz to 6 GHz at test separation distances ≤ 50 mm are determined by [(max. power of channel, including tune-up tolerance, mW)/(min. test separation distance, mm)] · [√f(GHz)] ≤3.0 for 1-g SAR and ≤ 7.5 for 10-g extremity SAR, where •f(GHz) is the RF channel transmit frequency in GHz • Power and distance are rounded to the nearest mW and mm before calculation • The result is rounded to one decimal place for comparison The test exclusions are applicable only when the minimum test separation distance is ≤ 50 mm and for transmission frequencies between 100 MHz and 6 GHz. When the minimum test separation distance is < 5 mm, a distance of 5 mm is applied to determine SAR test exclusion. FCC ID: 2AA3HHX-9540 EST Technology Co.,Ltd Report No. ESTE-R1403010 Page 3 of 3 3.
