Date: 2015/08/18 UNII Device Declaration Letter To whom it may concern: We have declared below featured for FCC equipment authorization, Device FCC ID: 2AAWQ‐CAPRICA2L IC: 11138A‐CAPRICA2L (1) DFS Device -- Master , Client with Radar detection capability , Client without radar detection capability, N/A (2) Active / Passive Scanning , adhoc mode access point capability Frequency Band (MHz) Active Scanning (the device can transmit a probe (beacon)) passive scanning (where the device is can listen only with no probes) Ad Hoc Mode capability Access point capability 2.412~2.472 Yes , No Yes , No Yes , No Yes , No 5.18~5.24 Yes , No Yes , No Yes , No Yes , No 5.26~5.32 Yes , No Yes , No Yes , No Yes , No 5.50~5.70 Yes , No Yes , No Yes , No Yes , No 5.745~5.825 Yes , No Yes , No Yes , No Yes , No (3) Country code selection ability - Yes , No If no, pls explain how it was implemented: We implement it base on initial file (tiwlan.INI), we would set up what channel should disable and what channel should used on our initial file. We would modify it base on different country. (4) Meet 15.202 requirement - Yes , No , pls check below : A master device is defined as a device operating in a mode in which it has the capability to transmit without receiving an enabling signal. In this mode it is able to select a channel and initiate a network by sending enabling signals to other devices A client device is defined as a device operating in a mode in which the transmissions of the device are under control of the master. A device in client mode is not able to initiate a network. (5) For client devices that have software configuration control to operate in different modes (active scanning in some and passive scanning in others) in different bands (devices with multiple equipment classes or those that operate on non- DFS frequencies) or modular devices which configure the modes of operations through software, the application must provide software and operations description on how the software and / or hardware is implemented to ensure that proper operations modes can not be modified by end user or an installer. Apply No Apply, (If apply, pls help to provide explanation on it was implement, and how software was controlled) This mechanism apply on TI firmware and WLAN driver, we don’t provide API to Application. It can not be modified by end user or an installer _________________ Phorus, Inc. Matt Carroll

Date:2015/08/18 (Product name) FCC ID : 2AAWQ-CAPRICA2L is seeking FCC Authorization as a Single Modular transmitter / Single Limited Modular Approval (Please check one). The EUT meets the requirements for Single Modular approval / Single Limited Modular Approval (please check one) as detailed in FCC public Notice DA00-1407. Compliance to each of the requirements is described below : Questions are: * Please provide a detailed explanation if the answer is “No.” Item Modular requirement Yes No 1 The radio elements must have the radio frequency circuitry shielded. Physical components and tuning capacitor(s) may be located external to the shield, but must be on the module assembly; V 2 The module must have buffered modulation/data inputs to ensure that the device will comply with Part 15 requirements with any type of input signal; V 3 The module must contain power supply regulation on the module; V 4 The module must contain a permanently attached antenna, or contain a unique antenna connector, and be marketed and operated only with specific antenna(s), per Sections 15.203, 15.204(b), 15.204(c), 15.212(a), 2.929(b); V 5 The module must demonstrate compliance in a stand-alone configuration; V 6 The module must be labelled with its permanently affixed FCC ID label, or use an electronic display (See KDB Publication 784748 about labelling requirements); V 7 The module must comply with all specific rules applicable to the transmitter including all the conditions provided in the integration instructions by the grantee; V 8 The module must comply with RF exposure requirements V Note: (1) LMA may be granted when one or more of the requirements in the table above cannot be demonstrated. LMA will also be issued in those instances where applicants can demonstrate that they will retain control over the final installation of the device, such that compliance of the end product is assured. In such cases, an operating condition on the LMA for the module must state that the module is only approved for use when installed in devices produced by a specific manufacturer. When LMA is sought, the application for equipment certification must specifically state how control of the end product into which the module will be installed, and will be maintained, such that full compliance of the end product is always ensured. (2) Please provide Clear and specific instructions describing the conditions, limitations and procedures for third-parties to use and/or integrate the module into a host device. (3) For non-Software Defined Radio transmitter modules where software is used to ensure compliance of the device, technical description of how such control is implemented to ensure prevention of third party modification must be provided (see KDB 594280). Note 1: Compliance of a module in its final configuration is the responsibility of the applicant. A host device will not be considered certified if the instructions regarding antenna configuration provided in the original description, of one or more separately certified modules it contains, were not followed. Example: A separately certified low-power transceiver module using Bluetooth technology which is housed in a desktop computer, laptop or peripheral does not require the overall system to be recertified, if the desktop computer, laptop or peripheral, as a stand-alone unit, complies with all applicable technical standards.
