Abrasion: Abrading a surface, followed by cleaning with IPA/water, can remove heavy dirt or oxidaon and can increase surface area to improve adhesion. Porous Surfaces: Most porous and fibered materials such as wood, particleboard, c oncrete etc. need to be sealed to provide a unified surface. Unique Materials: Special s urface preparation may be needed for glass and glass-like materials, copper and copper containing metals and plascs or rubber that contain components that migrate(e.g. plasticizers). To obtain opmum adhesion, the bonding surfaces must be well unified, c lean and dry. Typical surface cleaning solvents are IPA/ water mixture (rubbing alcohol) o r heptane.* (Steps A and B) Bond strength is dependent upon the amount of adhesive-to- surface contact developed. Firm applicaon pressure develops beer adhesive contact and helps improve bond strength. (Steps C and D) Generally, this means that t he tape should experience at l east 15 psi (100 kPa) in roll down or platen pressure. (Sources- page #4) Aer applicaon, the bond strength will increase as the adhesive flows onto the surface. At room temperature, approximately 50% of t he ulmate strength will be achieved aer 20 minutes, 90% aer 24 hours and 100% aer 72 hours. In some cases, bond strength can be increased and ulmate bond strength can be achieved more quickly by exposure of t he bond to elevated temperatures(e.g. 150°F [66°C] f or 1 hour). Most substrates are best prepared by cleaning with a 50:50 mixture of i sopropyl alcohol (IPA) and water* prior to applying Tapes. There are excepons! Excepons to this general procedure that may require addional surface preparaon include: General Procedure NOTE : T hese cleaner soluons contain greater than 250 g/l of volale organic compounds (VOC). Please consult your l ocal Air Qualit y Regulaons to be sure the cleaner i s compliant. When usin g solvents, be sure to follow the manufacturer’s precauons and direcons for use when handling such materials. IPA & Water Step A: Solvent wipe Step B: Wipe dry Step C: Apply tape to surface Step D: Roll finished joint Removal Variable Installaon STEP 1 Remove the top screw connecng the TD-1070 to the bracket STEP 2 With both hands supporng the top and boom of t he TD-1070 , carefully lt the top secon of TD-1070 downward 30° STEP 3 Gently pull the TD-1070 down to remove from bracket STEP 4 Apply hot air gun to the tape beneath bracket unl loose STEP 5 Slowly pull the tape and the bracket downward off the surface Discrete Cable Outlets The TD-1070 is designed for l andscape or portrait installaon with a discreet cable management system. DO NOT remove bracket or tape from surface forcefully. Excessive force during removal may lead to damaged surface.
