Subwoofer with integrated electronics LD MAUI® 44 & 66 G3 CARDIOID COLUMN PA SYSTEM LDMAUI66G3W; LDMAUI44G3W; LDMAUI66G3; LDMAUI44G3 GENERAL QUICK START GUIDE 2 2.2ASSEMBLING THE DEVICE 1Connect the lower array column to the subwoofer by inserting the steel pins of the lower array column into the corresponding steel pin holes on the subwoofer. 2Make sure both components connect properly. ðThe 14-pin connectors of the lower array column and the subwoofer are electrically connected. 3Connect the upper array column to the lower array column by inserting the steel pins of the upper ar- ray column into the corresponding steel pin holes on the lower array column. ðThe 14-pin connectors of the upper and lower ar- ray column are electrically connected. 3 POWER SUPPLY 3.1POWER CONNECTIONS 1 23 POWER IN - DC power input and device supply POWER OUT - DC pass-through output POWER - On/off switch 3.2CONNECTING A MAINS POWER CABLE WARNING Mains voltage Risk of electric shock a. Do not use kinked or damaged mains power cables. NOTICE Damage to the device a. Make sure that the voltage of the mains power socket matches the device operating voltage. b. Do not plug the device under load. 1Plug the device power connector into the device. Make sure the bayonet connector is positioned cor- rectly. 2Turn the bayonet connector clockwise to lock it. 3Plug the mains power connector into the mains power socket. GENERAL QUICK START GUIDE 3 3.3TURNING THE DEVICE ON OR OFF 1Flip the switch from the to the position. ðAfter a few seconds, the device is operational. 2Flip the switch from the to the position. ðThe device turns off. 4 | THE USER INTERFACE 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 MAIN Level Control - Adjusts the overall volume. When the subwoofer is used as a subwoofer extension, the level control is disabled and the MAIN display field is turned off. SUB Level control – Adjusts the volume balance between the subwoofer and the column speaker. When the sub- woofer is used as a subwoofer extension, the level control is disabled and the SUB display field is turned off. System Status Display - Provides visual feedback on oper- ating conditions. l PROTECT – Indicates that the system is overloaded or overheating. The amplifiers are muted automatically. Once normal operating conditions are restored, the unit returns to standard operation after a few minutes. GENERAL QUICK START GUIDE 4 l LIMIT – Indicates that the speaker system is operating near its upper limit. Brief illumination is not critical. To protect the system, excessive signal levels are smoothly reduced by the integrated limiter. If the lim- iter LED remains lit for longer or permanently, reduce the volume level. l SIGNAL – Indicates that the device is receiving an audio signal. The signal is detected before the main level con- trol. l POWER – Indicates that the device is properly connec- ted to the mains and switched on. l FOLLOW – Indicates that the columns have been de- tached from the system and the subwoofer is being used as a subwoofer extension. CARDIOID OFF Icon – Illustrates the correct MAIN and FOLLOW orientation when the cardioid preset is disabled. CARDIOID ON Icon – Illustrates the required MAIN and FOLLOW orientation when the cardioid preset is enabled. HOLD TO LINK Button - Press and hold for 3 seconds to activate Bluetooth® pairing for audio streaming. 7 L R CHANNEL - Cycles through left, right, or mono‑summed Bluetooth® output CARDIOID Subwoofer ON/OFF – Enables or disables the cardioid subwoofer preset. Press and hold the CARDIOID button for approximately 2 seconds to change the operat- ing mode. IN - Balanced line stereo input with two 3-pin female XLR sockets for connection of a playback device. Any stereo signal present is internally summed to mono. OUT - Provides a balanced pass‑through of the input sig- nal and the active Bluetooth audio signal for connecting additional audio equipment. SUB OUT – Provides a balanced line output via a male 3- pin XLR connector for controlling the subwoofer exten- sion. 5 GETTING STARTED 5.1AUDIO PLAYBACK 5.1.1 CONNECTING AN INPUT SOURCE (LINE-IN MONO PLAYBACK) 1Connect your line-level input source a)For a mono input source, connect your line- level signal to connector IN L or IN R b)For a stereo input source, connect the left and right line-level signals to connectors IN L and IN R. ðThe MAUI® internally sums the signals from IN L and IN R to a mono output. 5.1.2 CONNECTING AN INPUT SOURCE (LINE-IN STEREO PLAYBACK) üTwo MAUI® systems üStereo line-in audio source 1Connect the left output signal (L) of your stereo line‑level audio source to either of the Line inputs (IN L or IN R) on the first Maui unit. 2Connect the right output signal (R) of your stereo line‑level audio source to either of the Line inputs (IN L or IN R) on the second Maui unit. 5.1.3 ADJUSTING THE MAIN VOLUME 1 Turn the MAIN level control clockwise to increase the main volume. 2 Turn the MAIN level control anticlockwise to de- crease it. 5.1.4 CONNECTING A SUBWOOFER EXTENSION The MAUI® automatically enters SUB extension mode when the column speakers are detached.
