You can find an online version of this document at g.co/nest/help Basic safety WARNING: HEALTH AND SAFETY INFORMATION To avoid damaging your device, accessories, or any connected devices, and to reduce the risk of personal injury, discomfort, property damage, or other potential hazards, follow the precautions below and those found in the Nest Doorbell safety information at g.co/nest/safety. Review the safety guidelines at g.co/nest/safety before installing and using your Nest Doorbell: • Handle your Nest Doorbell with care. You may damage the device or the battery if you disassemble, drop, bend, burn, crush, or puncture your device. Nest Doorbell and its charge cable are designed to work best in ambient temperatures between -4°F and 104°F (-20°C and 40°C), and should be stored between ambient temperatures of -4°F and 176°F (-20°C and 80°C). Do not expose Nest Doorbell to temperatures above 176°F (80°C) as this may damage the doorbell, overheat the battery, or pose a risk of fire. • When using the device next to your body, maintain a distance of 20 cm (8 inches) from your body to be consistent with how the device is tested for compliance with RF exposure requirements. • Be sure the charge cable and device are well ventilated when in use. Using a damaged charge cable or using it when moisture is present can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the device or other property. Do not expose your device to liquids, which can cause a short circuit and overheating. If the device gets wet, do not attempt to dry it using an external heat source. Do not charge the device when it is wet or in direct sunlight. When charging, make sure the charge cable is easily accessible. This product is intended for use with a certified Limited Power Source (LPS) per IEC 60950-1 / IEC 62368-1, rated output: 5 VDC, 1.5 A. Only charge your Nest Doorbell with the included charge cable. Failure to use the charge cable included can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the device. • Your device is designed to be wall-mounted. Install in accordance with local building and installation regulations, using a base plate, wall screws, and wall anchors suited for your wall type. If connecting Nest Doorbell to existing wiring, turn off power to the doorbell before installation and only use the wire connector provided as not doing so may cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the device or other property. See g.co/nest/installdoorbell for additional wall-mount instructions. • Strangulation hazard. This device is not a toy. Children have strangled on cords. Keep the device cord out of the reach of children (more than 3 feet / 1 meter away). BATTERY Nest Doorbell contains a lithium-ion battery, which is a sensitive component that can cause injury if damaged. Do not attempt to remove the battery. Contact Google or a Google authorized service provider to replace the battery. Replacement by non-qualified professionals can damage your Nest Doorbell. Use of an non-qualified battery and improper disposal may present a risk of fire, explosion, leakage, and/or other hazards. Do not open, crush, heat above 45°C (113°F) or incinerate. Dispose of your Nest Doorbell, battery, and accessories according to local environmental regulations. Do not dispose of them in normal household waste. For more information on recycling your device, visit g.co/nest/recycle Medical Device Interference Your Nest Doorbell base plate contains a magnet that may interfere with pacemakers and other implanted medical devices. Were Google’s competitors to become aware of the facts set forth in the above-referenced exhibits to the application at this time, it could have an adverse impact on Google’s competitive standing and deprive Google of the marketplace benefit it otherwise might achieve by virtue of having the product available before other competitors. If any of the information for which confidential treatment is sought were to be made publicly available, Google’s competitors could reasonably determine the scope and status of our activities. 4.Explanation of the degree to which the information concerns a service that is competitive (§ 0.459(b)(4)): The technology that is the subject of the certification application is subject to intense competition from other manufacturers and service providers that are developing competing services and technology. 5.Explanation of how disclosure of the information could result in substantial competitive harm (§ 0.459(b)(5)): As noted above, were Google’s competitors to become aware of the facts set forth in the above-referenced exhibits to the application, it could have an adverse impact on Google’s competitive standing and deprive Google of the marketplace benefit it otherwise would achieve by virtue of having the product available before other providers. 6.Identification of any measures taken by the requesting party to prevent unauthorized disclosure (§ 0.459(b)(6)): The information contained in the above-referenced exhibits to the certification application has been strictly controlled by Google, with distribution limited to internal use only and for the specific purpose of conducting research, development, and testing of the technology. 7.Identification of whether the information is available to the public and the extent of any previous disclosures of the information to any third parties (§ 0.459(b)(7)): The information that Google requests be maintained as confidential is not available publicly. The information has been protected and kept confidential by limiting external contacts to privileged and confidential communications. 8.Justification of the period during which the submitting party asserts that material should not be available for public disclosure (§ 0.459(b)(8)): Given the competitive nature of the marketplace, any disclosure that Google has developed the technology discussed in the above-referenced exhibits to the certification application would harm Google’s competitive position. The information subject to this request for confidentiality should not be made available for public disclosure at any time. In addition, pursuant to Public Notice DA 04-1705, and in order to comply with the marketing regulations in 47 C.F.R. §2.803 and the importation rules in 47 C.F.R. §2.1204 while ensuring that business-sensitive information remains confidential until the actual marketing of newly authorized devices, Google also requests that the Commission grant temporary confidential treatment and not release the following attachments for routine public disclosure until 180 days following the grant of this certification application: ●Internal Photos ●External Photos ●Test Setup Photos ●User Manual It is our understanding that test measurement reports and correspondence during the certification review process cannot be granted confidential treatment, and such information will be available for public review once the grant of equipment authorization is issued.
