Canada www.SolidRF.ca 1 Working Diagram (How It Works) 1. The outdoor antenna catches the signal from the tower. 2. Sends outside signal to the booster through a coax cable. 3. The booster amplifies the signal then rebroadcasts the signal indoors to all mobile devices within ran ge. The sizeand the coverage area and the strengthof the boosted signal are directly related to two key factors: 1. Signal strength received by the outdoor unit. So, setting up the outside unit where the signal is the strongest will provide the best results. 2Distanceofseparationbetweentheoutdoorunitandtheindoorantenna g 4. The system also works in reverse; amplifying outgoing signal back to the tower. Package Contents 2.Distance of separationbetween the outdoor unit and the indoor antenna. The kit includes the following items: 1. Booster; 2. Inside Antenna; 3. Power supply; 4. 10ft RG316cable, for connecting the outdoor unit and indoor unit; Booster Inside Antenna AC/DC Power Adapter RG316 Cable 2 Signal transmission loss and power level Coverage area ability Note: FCC regulations limit the amplification of all cell phone boosters in order to preventdamagetothetelecommunicationsinfrastructureThereforethemaximumprevent damage to the telecommunications infrastructure. Therefore, the maximum coverage area of a booster depends on the original power level of the signal captured by the outdoor unit. Notice: Not recommended when outdoor signal strength is less than ‐110dbm(3G/1x) or ‐120dBm(4G/LTE). The resulting coverage area of the boosted signal will be prohibitivelysmallprohibitively small. Make sure the inside and outside units are facing away from each other. First determine the location of the inside antenna. It should be the place you use your cell phone signal most of the time. Then choose the location of the outside antenna. It should be in front or rear on the roof, has the most distance from the inside antenna location. Also need consider how the route the cable inside. A B 4 Step2: Outdoor Antenna Installation Determine where you want to have the outside antenna on your RV. Mount outside antenna on the roof. Option A : Outside Roof Mount (Best Choice) 5 Option B : Rear Compartment Cover Mount (Second Choice) Mount outside booster to rear compartment cover NOTE: Keep in mind to stay below the max height limit allowed by law, which varies Step3: Cable Route & Booster Mount Determine where you want the cable to enter the RV. NOTE: With this option, we recommend doing a ‘soft install’ before drilling the hole. Set up the system by routing the cablethroughanopendoororwindowcompletingthesetupinstructionsverifyingthe pygy from state to state (generally 14’ in western states and 13’6” in eastern states). cable through an open door or window, completing the setup instructions, verifying the system works as desired, and then drilling the hole. Step4: Connect the System 1Connectsixantennasonthebooster1.Connect six antennas on the booster 2. Connect the booster to the “Input” port of splitter by cable . Connect the inside antenna and Plug in the power adaptor and connect it to the nearest power outlet (surge protector recommended). 7 Step5: Evaluate the Effects •Now that all of the components of the booster are in place, and the booster is powered on, it’s time to check the performance. If everything checks out, return to steps 2 and 3 to finalize installation. Here’s what you should look for: 1.) Run a signal strength/speed check. Test the signal strength with the booster off, then re‐test the signal in the same location after you plug‐in the power supply. You should have a stronger signal. You can access the signal strength through the settings menu of your phone (a negative number in dBm) or download a speed test App. Remember that a stronger signal means the dBm is closer to zero. (Refer to the diagramonpage3)diagram on page 3) 2.) When you plug‐in the power adaptor, the booster runs a self‐diagnostic as it powers on. Use the LED light on the back of the main inside antenna to interpret the results. If everything is connected properly, and there is an adequate power supply, the LED light should stay continuous green. •If something is wrong, refer to the “Quick Troubleshooting” section at the end of the manual. Otherwise, finalize the installation. Happy boosting, happy trails! Different materials and other obstructions in your home will result in different outcomes. 8 Correct functioning: •Power Light should be solid green •The lights on the front panel indicate the condition of the booster. Every time the booster is powered on, all of the lights will be green in color for several seconds then Quick Trouble shooting p,gg off. This means the booster has passed the self check and is in good condition.. Incorrect Functioning: (Please see the Troubleshooting Guide for further details) •If any of the lights on the front panel are flashing in green then off/continue flashing/solid green, it means that self oscillation is occurring. You must switch off the booster and check the outside and inside antennas immediatel y. Make sure you have Power Light yy followed the recommended installation process and check each step carefully. Refer to Self Oscillation section for more details of minimum required separation distance, antennas installation. If you can not fix the problem please contact the technical support or the reseller. Output power listed is conducted at antenna terminals. The antennas used with this signal booster must be installed to provide a separation distance of at least 20 cm from all persons. Users and installers must be provided with the antenna kitting and installation instructions and operating conditions for satisfying RF exposure compliance.
