55 English SCAN SCAN Your radio is equipped with the Scan feature, which allows you to search for, lock onto, and monitor voice activity on trunked talkgroups and conventional channels.There are five types of Scan available in your radio: • Auto Group Scan • All Group Scan • PassPort Primary Auto Scan • Passport Group Scan • System Scan The table below summarizes the Scan types available in each zone type. Shaded areas indicate that Scan can be enabled through a programmable button (see page 22) or through your radio menu. TALKBACKWhen activity is detected during any type of scan, scanning stops and the active talkgroup or channel appears and remains on the display until scanning resumes. Your dealer can program the amount of time you can respond (or “TALKBACK”) to the caller before your radio resumes scanning.You must press the PTT button to participate in the call; otherwise, scanning continues to the other talkgroups or channels. Any time you are positioned on a PassPort talkgroup other than the first one, your radio automatically scans activity on the first talkgroup within that zone.Note: This feature is enabled AUTOMATICALLY with your radio. It is not enabled through the radio menu or through a prepro-grammed scan button. PASSPORT GROUP SCAN G (PASSPORT TRUNKED OPERATION ONLY) PassPort Group Scan scans talkgroups within the selected Passport trunked zone, as programmed by your dealer. Up to 16 different talkgroups can be programmed into each Scan list, with one Scan list assigned to each position on the Zone Selector knob. You can edit these Scan lists through your radio ’ s menu (see page 60). When PassPort Group Scan is Enabled• The G symbol appears on the display. • The LED indicator blinks green during PassPort Group Scan operation; it stops blinking when the radio switches to an active talkgroup or channel. Note: • PassPort Group Scan is not available when registered on a non-home site. • If you switch to another PassPort zone, LTR, or conventional zone while the radio is scan-ning, scanning resumes upon return to the PassPort zone where PassPort Group Scan was enabled. • If the radio is turned off while scanning, the radio resumes scanning when you turn it back on. If the radio registers on a non-home site, scanning is not enabled until the radio regis-ters at its home site. 57 English SCAN To Start or Stop PassPort Group Scan Operation through a Preprogrammed Button (see page 22)• Press the preprogrammed Scan button to start PassPort Group Scan. • Press the preprogrammed Scan button again to stop the PassPort Group Scan. –or–To Start or Stop PassPort Group Scan Operation through the Menu AUTO GROUP SCAN G (LTR TRUNKED OPERATION ONLY)Auto Group Scan automatically scans talkgroups within an LTR trunked zone as programmed by your dealer. Auto Group Scan can be either non-prioritized or prioritized. • Non-prioritized Auto Group Scan automatically scans all talkgroups programmed with Auto Group Scan. • Prioritized Auto Group Scan automatically scans the selected talkgroup and all lower 4-numbered talkgroups. For example, if talkgroups 1, 3, and 4 have been programmed by your dealer with Auto Group Scan and talkgroup 4 is selected, the radio automatically scans talkgroups 1, 3, and 4, and skips talkgroup 2. To Start Auto Group ScanSelect a talkgroup that has been programmed for Auto Group Scan by your dealer. When All Group Scan is enabled:• The G symbol appears on the display. • The LED indicator blinks green during All Group Scan operation; it stops blinking when the radio switches to an active talk-group. Note: If you enter menu mode while the radio is scanning, scanning stops. It resumes when you exit menu mode. This transmitter is primarily intended for use in a portable radio application with capabilities for conventional and trunked communications with a transmit power of 1 Watt (+30 dBm) or 5.5 Watts (+37.4 dBm). The subject transmitter complies with CFR Title 47, Section 90.203, in that the operator cannot directly program the transmit frequencies using only the normally accessible external controls of the unit. On December 6, 2001, representatives from Motorola Inc. and one of our customers met with the Commercial Wireless Division to discuss our intention for the use of this equipment, utilizing 12.5 kHz channel spacing with + 2.5 ppm frequency stability, in the 220-222 MHz band. In attendance were representatives from the FCC’s Equipment Authorization Branch and from the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau. At that time we presented an analysis to demonstrate that our intended operation of this equipment would not impact existing 5 kHz users in this band, in that the undesired emissions from our equipment, operating under the frequency assignment guidelines we propose, would not exceed the undesired emissions level from an adjacent 5 kHz user, even if the effects of + 2.5 ppm stability were included. We indicated that the subject transmitter is similar to that previously certified under FCC ID: AZ489FT3794, except having been redesigned for operation in the 217-218, 219-220 and 220-222 MHz bands, and for 12.5 kHz channel spacing only. Because the subject transmitter complies with all applicable rules, and no request for a change of rules was made, it was felt that Certification was achievable. EMC reports report 3.0 W while the SAR reports 3.1 W. CFR 47 section 90.541 (c) limits power to 3.0 W. R1) The radio submitted for SAR measurement was tuned to its maximum adjustable power setting using specialized software that is not available to the dealer or end user. The CPS (Customer Programming Software) available to the dealer allows the power level of each channel to be programmed to “Low Power” (1.2 watts) or “High Power” (2.75 watts) only. These two power levels are factory-adjusted to a tolerance of + 0.1 watt at several frequencies across the operating band, and this information is stored in the radio. The operating frequency of the channel being programmed is used to choose the power output setting that is appropriate for that frequency. This method gives a very accurate and predictable output power setting which is not subject to variations due to errors in customer or dealer power measurement equipment Q2) New occupied BW plots. It is not clear if all frequencies in the test range were scanned. It appears that only harmonic frequencies were tested. Please, provide additional test data as appropriate. R5) RADIATED SPURIOUS EMISSIONS The equipment submitted for OATS Radiated Spurious Emissions Testing was initially pre-screened using a GTEM (Gigahertz Transverse Electromagnetic) cell which meets the specifications of TIA/EIA-603-A section 1.5.36. IEC 60481-1 compliant signal processing software is used to convert the individual 3-axis dBμV field strength measurement into an OATS-correlatable value. The shielding of GTEM cell eliminates unwanted signals, allowing close inspection of the spurious emissions of the equipment with greater resolution and lower noise floor than is obtainable in an open area test site environment. Any measurable non-harmonically-related emissions are noted. This pre-screening information is supplied to the agency performing the OATS measurement, allowing them to concentrate are areas where spurious emissions may be found. Note that the GTEM data itself is not submitted to the FCC, but only used as an aid to locate spurious emissions which may be overlooked due to ambient signal conditions in the OATS test site. For the case of the subject equipment of this application, no such non-harmonically related spurious emissions were found, and therefore were not reported. The System Performance Check process adopted by the Motorola CGISS EME Lab is consistent with IEEE Std. 1528 (April 4, 2002) paragraph 8.2, FCC Supplement-C (ed. 01-01), and CENELEC SAR Standard EN-50361. Also, System Validation process is consistent with IEEE-1528 (April 4, 2002) paragraph 8.3. System Performance Check target values are determined/measured after system validation using the system check setup. The system validation is performed per IEEE Std. 1528 using reference dipoles listed in Table G.1, head tissue with dielectric properties listed in Table 5.1, and numerical reference SAR values for reference dipoles listed in Table 8.1. (Note: SPEAG dipoles are constructed per IEEE Std. 1528) The resulting measured SAR for both 1g and 10g averages become the new system performance check target values for that specific test frequency and dipole source. Using the same test system and test setup, other dipoles, at this same frequency, that require system performance check targets are measured. For frequencies =>750 MHz, all appropriate dipoles verses all tissue types (head, body), including CENELEC variations that require system performance check SAR targets generated are measured. System performance check target values for 300 MHz and 450 MHz dipoles are generated after performing the system validation using the 835 MHz reference dipole (SPEAG) as stated in IEEE Std. 1528; all appropriate 300 MHz and 450 MHz dipoles verses all tissue types (head, body), including CENELEC variations that require performance check SAR targets generated are then measured. This process is repeated for all required system performance check frequencies. System performance check is performed daily prior to compliance test and the results must be within +/-10% of the previously determined system check target value. It is performed at a central frequency of the transmitting band or, when a radiating source is not available at the operating frequency range of the test device, a source operating within 100 MHz of the mid-band channel is used. For frequencies below 300 MHz, system performance check is performed at 300 MHz.
