Limits The criteria listed in the following table shall be used to evaluate the environment impact of human exposure to radio frequency (RF) radiation as specified in 1.1307(b) Limits for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) f = frequency in MHz Friis transmission formula: Pd = (Pout*G)/(4*pi*r 2 ) Where Pd = power density in mW/cm 2 , Pout = output power to antenna in mW; G = gain of antenna in linear scale, Pi = 3.1416; R = distance between observation point and center of the radiator in cm Pd id the limit of MPE, 1 mW/cm 2 . If we know the maximum gain of the antenna and the total power input to the antenna, through the calculation, we will know the distance r where the MPE limit is reached. Test setup The EUT was placed on a turn table which was 0.8 m above the ground. The turn table can rotate 360 degrees to determine the position of the maximum emission level. The EUT was set 3 m away from the receiving antenna which was mounted on an antenna tower. The measuring antenna moved up and down to find out the maximum emission level. It moved from 1 m to 4 m for both horizontal and vertical polarizations. The bandwidth of the Spectrum’s VBW is set at 3MHz and RBW is set at 1MHz for peak emissions measurement above 1GHz and 1MHz RBW, 10Hz VBW for average emissions measure. Note: If the PK measured levels comply with average limit, then the average level were deemed to comply with average limit.
