Correspondence Summary Q & A July 13, 2004 SUBJECT: MOTOROLA - FCC ID: AZ489FT4868 TCB Question: SAR report: Please, explain the use of liquid dielectric parameters for the body, as it appears that this device is used close to the face during normal operation (typically 2 to 3" from the face according to user's manual instructions). Applicant Answer: The user only speaks into the unit when recording a voice message that will be played when a customer pushes the button for assistance. The radio does not transmit during the voice record mode. This is noted in the manual excerpt below. Device Operation Mount the device in a vertical position. The recommended mounting height is 48 inches from the floor. When recording your messages on the MOC, the recommended distance from the device to the lips is two to three inches (5.0 to 7.5 cm). Not performing this accurately may result in audio distortion.
