It is a small yet complete station, with transceivers, switching functions and transmission. The RBS 2308 supports both PCM and IP-based transmission. In all mixed micro configurations, the RBS 2308 or RBS 2309 must serve as the master. A maximum of two RBS 2302 cabinets can be connected to an RBS 2308 or RBS 2309. In an existing configuration of six TRXs, one RBS 2302 cabinet mustberemoved.ThetworemainingTRXsofTRX0–5intheRBS2302 group will change their numbering to 8 – 11.See figures below. The tests also include measuring the feeder length to calculate feeder system loss and delay. The tests described are valid for GSM 800/900/1800/1900 passive antenna systems for RBS 2308 and RBS 2309. Equipment for Antenna System Tests The Anritsu Site Master S331C is recommended for the tests described in this chapter. The following checklist is not mandatory but it is strongly recommended. Local procedures and safety regulations must be evaluated and included in this checklist. The section is based on the Replacement Unit Map (RU Map) connected to an alarm. Open the sunshields. 2. Contact the OMC operator to obtain permission to temporarily take cells out of service. Wait until the RF off indicator shows a constant light. 3. Press the Local/Remote button on the IXU to set the RBS to local mode. If it is an extension cabinet, press the Local/Remote button on the RRU to set the unit to local mode. 4. Switch off the AC power and DC power outside the cabinet. Replacing the PIB 5. Open the t wo clasps and pull the RRU to the left to gain access to the powe r switches. " :0 6. Press the Local/Remote button on the IXU to set the units to remote mode. If it is an extension cabinet, press the Local/Remote button on the RRU to set the unit to remote mode. Wait until the RF off indicator on the RRU interface panel goes off and the Operational indicator lights up. 21. Close the sunshields. Handling Replaced Units The PIB should be returned to Ericsson for repair with a repair delivery note, LZF 084 84 (Blue Tag) attached. Include a clear description of the fault found. SeeSection 10.6 Returning Hardware on page 255for instructions on completing a repair delivery note. 10.5.7Replacing a PSTU This section describes how to replace a faulty Packet-Switched Termination Unit (PSTU). This base station will in normal mode operate at a nominal power output of 2.5 watts at the antenna connector. The power output is reducible to ~20 milliwatts.
