DRAFT COPY FEATURES •Products are UL/cUL and/or FCC/IC tested and approved. •Operational range of up to 100 feet. Heath ® /Zenith wireless lighting controls are designed to work together. Simply determine which transmitter(s) you would like to have control which receiver(s) and set the code setting to match. •Transmitters –Remote Control –Indoor Wireless Motion Sensor Remote Controlled Products This manual includes operating instructions for a variety of remote controlled products. All products work on the same principle and use the same code setting information. Please read all instructional information and note any specific information pertaining to your particular product. WARNINGS: • FOR USE ONLY with 120 volt incandescent or halogen bulbs. •DO NOT USE with fluorescent bulbs, appliances, power supplies, low voltage lighting, or any other electrical devices. CODE SETTINGS Note: Most single system installations will not require any change to the code setting. Transmitter(s) and receiver(s) must have the same code and group setting to work to- gether. Switches 1 through 3 set the code. Switch 4 sets the Group (A or B). See page 2 for switch locations. There are 8 codes available by changing the settings of switches 1 through 3. Example 2 - Code Switch Settings, System 2 Receiver(s) Code Receiver(s) Code Group AGroup B Remote Control Code When using a single group transmitter (i.e. Door Transmitter, Add- A-Switch, Remote Motion Sensor) the code and group settings must match receiver(s) for the system to function properly. This manual applies to the following products: Group Switch Not Used on Remote Note: The channel can also be changed to reduce interference problems from other wireless products (i.e. wireless phones, garage door openers, etc.). See Troubleshooting Guide for more information. If more than two receiver units, operating independently, are desired, additional remote controls will need to be purchased. 1. Remove Tab from Battery Chamber. Remove cover from back of transmitter. Gently pull tab out of battery chamber. Slide cover onto transmitter. REMOTE CONTROL 2. Remote Control Functions. The three buttons on the left side of the remote will operate one or more receiver units with matching addresses. The three buttons on the right side of the remote will operate a second set of one or more receiver units. •Device A/B ON: Turns on any receiver unit set to the same channel as this remote control. •Device A/B OFF: Turns off any receiver unit set to the same channel as this remote control. •Device A/B DIM: Activates the DIM feature for any receiver unit set to the same channel as this remote control. Note: Pressing the DIM button steps through five brightness levels. Note: To independently operate a second receiver unit using a single remote control, make sure the 4th dip switch on each receiver is set to a different setting (see Code Settings section). •Device A - Slide dip switch 4 to the OFF position on each receiver to be operated by these buttons. •Device B - Slide dip switch 4 to the ON position on each receiver to be operated by these buttons. Response to TCB Findings 1. Please describe how the unit was exercised to ensure worst-case transmission for duty-cycle plots and calculations. In the unit, the dipswitches control the digital code, which is the worst case, i.e. few pulses/100 mSec. Thus the unit was pre-configured by the client for the worst case and the same was exercised to ensure worst-case transmission for duty-cycle plots and calculations. 2. How was the unit exercised during radiated emissions testing? The unit with two new fresh batteries was kept "Constant ON" mode with unmodulated carrier during radiated emissions testing. 3. Has the device been tested on 3 orthogonal planes? No. The device has not been tested on 3 orthogonal planes because the device will be used as wall-mount unit 4. The RBW used for 20dB bandwidth measurement is not wide enough per ANSI C63.4 Clause 13.1.7. Please clarify. Please find herewith new graph with the RBW of 10kHz used for 20dB bandwidth measurement 5. Please specify the label material. [Ruby Dulmage] Label material is adhesive backed paper with a polypropylene coating - permanently affixed (80Y-PP material) .

Operational Description

6031TX Heath®/Zenith Model number: 6031 FCC Model designation 6031TX FCC ID#: BJ4-60WRC31TX IC#: Canada: 3984A-6031TX 6031 Description Two AA batteries power this unit. The input power is connected to a motion detector IC, which switches power on and off to the transmitter encoder circuit when motion is detected. When a key is pressed, the motion detector IC switches power on to the transmitter section. The transmitter encoder IC then supplies a digital code to the RF section of the circuit, which is transmitted by the RF circuit. The dipswitches control the digital code which is sent. The A or B control selection and channel selection (1 to 8) are determined by the dip switch settings. An LED indicates when motion is detected. Upon detecting motion, the motion detector IC provides command data to the encoder IC, and enables it to output the data. The output of the encoder chip goes through the oscillator/modulator stage. A SAW locks the frequency, which is tuned for 315M Hz. The encoded signal is then sent through the “helical” antenna mounted on the front of the PCB and the RF output is transmitted into the air.
