Please read this user’s guide before installing, setting up, and using your new sender. 2/3 15-332 -EN 033110.indd 14/6/2010 5:24:57 PM 2 Package contents • Transmitter • Receiver • IR Extender • AC Adapter (2) • RCA cable (2) • User’s Guide • Quick Start Features • 5.8 Ghz provides clean transmission from room to room (up to 200 ft away). • Use your existing remote to pause, play, fast forward or control the device you are enjoying. • Gold connectors are designed to enhance the performance of audio and video components by reducing signal loss and interference. 1 Install the Transmitter 1. Make sure the transmitter is off, then connect the transmitter to your A/V source (DVD player, TV, or VCR) with the RCA cable. For better picture quality, connect your transmitter to the A/V source with a S-Video cable (not included). If you use the S-Video connection and A/V connection together, the S-Video connection takes priority. 2. Connect the IR extender plug to the transmitter’s REMOTE OUT jack and place the IR extender in front of the A/V source’s IR sensor. Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC 12V jack, then plug it into a standard household outlet. 4. Adjust the flip-up antenna so that the dotted side faces the receiver. 2 Install the Receiver 1. Make sure the receiver is off, then connect the receiver to your TV with the RCA cable. 2. Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC 12V jack, then plug it into a standard household outlet. 3. Adjust the antenna so that the dotted side faces the transmitter. nNotes: • S-Video and Composite Video are interchangeable, but S-Video is usually the dominant input. There will no picture output at the receiver, if your A/V device only has composite video and you connect S-Video cable to the transmitter. • If you use the S-Video connection on the transmitter, you must also use the S-Video connection on the receiver. • Make sure the receiver is set a little forward to the top of TV in order to have the best IR performance. • Turn the dotted side of the transmitter and receiver face to face to obtain the best performance. 15-332 -EN 033110.indd 54/6/2010 5:25:09 PM 6 • If you hear a popping sound when you place the receiver on top of your TV, move the receiver until the popping sound disappears. • S-Video connectors have a special orientation, when you want to use S-Video connection, carefully handle the connector, and make sure the orientation is correct. Push it gently, otherwise, you will break the connector and connector socket of device. • Be sure the RCA cable’s plug colors correspond with the receiver or transmitter and A/V device jacks: white for audio left, red for audio right, yellow for video. • For optimum performance and reception, keep the transmitter and receiver away from wireless LAN access points, microwave ovens, and wireless networks or phones that run on 5.8GHz frequency. • Rotating the antenna on either the receiver or transmitter 360 o or more may cause damage. • Unplug the AC adapters from the AC outlet before unplugging it from the transmitter or receiver. • Use the supplied AC adapters only. Choose one of the 4 channels by sliding the channel switch to set the transmitter and receiver to the same channel. 2. Turn on the transmitter and receiver. The power indicators light red. 3. Turn on the connected A/V source and TV. Point your remote control (not included) at the receiver and make a selection. nNote: Most A/V devices work on 38kHz. Your transmitter is set to 38kHz by default (indicated by B position of the A/B Remote switch). If the connected A/V source does not respond to remote control commands, change the setting and try again. Make sure the transmitter and receiver are off, then connect the transmitter to your VCR, DVD, DSS or LDP with the supplied RCA cable. For better picture quality, connect your transmitter to the A/V source with a S-Video cable (not included). 2. Use another cable (not supplied) to connect your VCR, DVD, DSS or LDP and your TV. 3. Connect the receiver to the VCR with the RCA cable. Use another cable (not supplied) to connect your VCR and TV. nNote: If your TV does not have an A/V in port, use a 75Ω RF coaxial cable from the TV’s antenna IN (or VHF/ UHF) to your VCR’s modulator output. TR 5830 Operation Description Operation Description Tx-TR5830 Tx-5830 is a Video and audio sender which receive the input video and audio then modulated to FM-modulated signal and upconverting to 5.8GHz band and send it by 5.8GHz antenna. And also receive the IR extending signal from Rx-5830 via 433.92MHz carrier frequency and regenerated to IR signal to control the AV sources. The detailed operations are desribed as followed. Powering The Tx 5830 deploy a DC-12V adaptor, the input DC power are through 2 Voltage regulated ICs 7805,78L09 then provide 2 different voltage for modules. Video and audio Transmission 1. The input video and audio are sent to the “video and audio modulation module” then modulated to FM-modulated signal 2. The modulated FM signal is fed into 5.8GHz Tx module, which upconvert the signal into 5.8GHz band 3. There are 4 channels are available by sliding the slide switch, the frequencies are 5790,5828,5847,5866 MHz 4. Then the RF signal is fed to a 5.8GHz antenna and transmitt out. IR Extender reception and regeneration 1. IR receiving module take the received RF signal and decode it to original data 2. Then through a IR regenerated circuit to produce IR electric signal,(user can change the IR carrier frequency via a slide switch to match the IR carrier frequency of their device ) 3. Then the electric signal is convert via a IR Mouse( there is a IR LED) to IR signal to control the audio and video source. And also transmitt the received IR signal from user press the remote controller, then coded and upconvert to 433.92MHz carrier frequency and sent to an IR extender antenna and radiated to the Tx-5830. The detailed operations are desribed as followed. Powering The Tx 5830 deploy a DC-12V adaptor, the input DC power is through Voltage regulated ICs 7805 to provide 5Vdc for modules. Video and audio reception 1. The input RF signal from a 5.8GHz antenna, then fed into a 5.8GHz Rx Module. 2. The 5.8GHz Rx module downconvert the RF signal into FM signal. There are 4 channels are available by sliding the slide switch, the frequencies are 5790,5828,5847,5866 MHz 3. The FM signal is fed into a FM de-modulation module and convert to Composite Video (or S-Video) and Audio RL 4. Then the Video and audio are fed into a TV set. IR Extender transmission 1. IR signal receiving module take the received IR signal from the remote controller (user to press any key) and code it to digital data 2. Then through a IR extender 433.92 MHz SAW filtered siganl generater circuit. Then through an amplifier circuit to produce RF signal, 3. Then the RF signal is thorugh a bandpass filter to provide useable 433.92MHz RF signal 4.
