15-333 User’s Guide 5.8GHz Wireless A/V Signal Receiver Thank you for purchasing your A/V Signal receiver from RadioShack. Please read this user’s guide before installing, setting up, and using your new receiver. 2/2 15-333 -EN 033110.indd 14/8/2010 11:35:28 AM 2 Package contents • Receiver • AC Adapter • RCA cable • User’s Guide • Quick Start Features • 5.8 GHz provides clean transmission from room to room (up to 200 ft away). • Use your existing remote to pause, play, fast forward or control the device you are enjoying. • Gold connectors are designed to enhance the performance of audio and video components by reducing signal loss and interference. Install the Receiver Your receiver works with the 5.8GHz Wireless A/V Signal Sender (not included). For signal sender installment information, refer to the user’s guide of the A/V signal sender. 1. Make sure the receiver is off, then connect the receiver to your TV with the RCA cable. 2. Connect the supplied AC adapter to the DC 12V jack, then plug it into a standard household outlet. 3. Set the channel sitch to match with your transmitter channel setting. 5. Turn on the receiver and TV. nNotes: • If you use the S-Video connection on the transmitter, you must also use the S-Video connection on the receiver. • If you use the S-Video connection and A/V connection together, the S-Video connection takes priority. • Make sure the receiver is set 2-4 inches (5-10 cm) forward to the top of your CRT or to your flat panel TV in order to have the best IR performance. • If you hear a popping sound when you place the receiver on top of your TV, move the receiver until the popping sound disappears. • S-Video connectors have a special orientation. When you want to use S-Video connection, handle the connector carefully, and make sure the orientation is correct. Push it gently, otherwise, you will break the connector and connector socket of device. • Be sure the RCA cable’s plug colors correspond with the receiver and A/V device jacks: white for audio left, red for audio right, yellow for video. • For optimum performance and reception, keep the receiver away from wireless LAN access points, ON/OFF Channel Switch 15-333 -EN 033110.indd 44/8/2010 11:35:29 AM 5 microwave ovens, and wireless networks or phones that run on 5.8GHz frequency. • Rotating the antenna 360 o or more may cause damage. • Unplug the AC adapters from the AC outlet before unplugging it from the transmitter or receiver. • Use the supplied AC adapters only. Using an AC adapter not designed for this product may cause damage. • For more operations for the A/V signal receiver, refer to the user’s guide of the A/V signal sender. Important Safety Instructions • Keep your A/V signal receiver dry and clean. If it gets wet or dirty, wipe it dry or clean immediately. • Wipe your A/V signal receiver with a damp cloth to keep it looking new. • Use and store your signal receiver in room temperature environments only. • Modifying the A/V signal receiver’s internal components can cause malfunction and might invalidate its warranty. Operational Description

TR-5830IR Operation Description Operation Description Rx-TR5830 Rx-5830 is a Video and audio receiver which decoded the signal from 5.8GHz antenna then convert the signal to composite video and audio to TV set. And also transmitt the received IR signal from user press the remote controller, then coded and upconvert to 433.92MHz carrier frequency and sent to an IR extender antenna and radiated to the Tx-5830. The detailed operations are desribed as followed. Powering The Tx-5830 deploy a DC-12V adaptor, the input DC power is through Voltage regulated ICs 7805 to provide 5Vdc for modules. Video and audio reception 1. The input RF signal from a 5.8GHz antenna, then fed into a 5.8GHz Rx Module. 2. The 5.8GHz Rx module downconvert the RF signal into FM signal. There are 4 channels are available by sliding the slide switch, the frequencies are 5790,5828,5847,5866 MHz 3. The FM signal is fed into a FM de-modulation module and convert to Composite Video (or S-Video) and Audio RL 4. Then the Video and audio are fed into a TV set. IR Extender transmission 1. IR signal receiving module take the received IR signal from the remote controller (user to press any key) and code it to digital data 2. Then through a IR extender 433.92 MHz SAW filtered siganl generater circuit. Then through an amplifier circuit to produce RF signal, 3. Then the RF signal is thorugh a bandpass filter to provide useable 433.92MHz RF signal 4. Then the bandpass filtered RF signal is fed to a transmitter ciruit and though a 433.92MHz antenna to send back to Tx-5830.. Approved    Checked    Prepared   Page
