VP1004- ISO Reader Multiplexer - Quick start 9-2011 Doc.part.no. 5277434 45.01B 1/ 4 Quick start VP1004 ISO Reader Multiplexer The Velos VP1004 is a Velos component that is used to identify animals. The VP1004 must be installed in a V-box. A VP1004 is connected to the Velos CAN-bus and controlled by a VP8001 (VPU). Inputs / Outputs / Antennas - 8 antennas, auto scanning one by one (max 10x VP1004 per VP8001) - 2 outputs available to activate e.g. lights and 2 inputs for reading e.g. switches FCC ID: CGDVELOS5 and IC: 1444A-VELOS5 Compliance statement (part15.19) This device complies with part 15 of the FCC Rules and to RSS210 of Industry Canada. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) this device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. This Model: VP1004 VELOS is delivered by Nedap directly to its dealers and/or end users. We also deliver a second Model: VP1004 GEA. This unit is electronically as well as mechanically the same as the VP1004 VELOS only it is delivered to the company GEA who delivers it to their dealers and/or end users. Therefore a second Model number is introduced. As shown in the test report the VP1004 VELOS has been measured amongst other with antenna Model: VP6012. The antenna applied in this model number is empotted in a plastic enclosure and consist of 4 turns copper wire (120x0.1 mm, twisted) inductive O-Antenna with dimensions 265x155 mm see “04_Antenna information CGDVELOS5.pdf”. Nedap provides totally 4 different Models with the same antenna inside as there are: 1. Model: VP6012 (as mentioned in the test report) with article number 7594780 is a V-Sense 285x170 mm GEA antenna, with cable outlet on the side and GEA logo on the product. 2. Model: VP6012 with article number 7586191 is a V-Sense 285x170 mm VELOS antenna, with cable outlet on the side and Nedap logo on the product. 3. Model: VP6011 with article number 7587660 is V-Sense 285x170 mm GEA antenna, with cable outlet on the back and GEA logo on the product. 4. Model: VP6011 with article number 7585900 is a V-Sense 285x170 mm VELOS antenna, with cable outlet on the back and Nedap logo on the product. We, N.V. Nederlandsche Apparatenfabriek “Nedap”, declare that the Model: VP1004 VELOS as tested in above mentioned test report is the same as Model: VP1004 GEA with FCC ID: CGDVELOS5 and also that the antenna in the Models mentioned in this letter under item 1 till 4 is the same. TCB Question and Answer: TCB: I see that the EUT is capable of supporting many antennas connected at once. Please confirm how many antennas could be connected at one time. Please confirm if the transmission would be emitting from each antenna at the same time. Please confirm if all antennas would need to be the same type or if a mixture of antennas is possible. Please note that FCC Part 15.31(h) and ANSI C63.10 both state: If an intentional radiator incorporates more than one antenna or other radiating source and these radiating sources are designed to emit at the same time, measurements of conducted and radiated emissions shall be performed with all radiating sources that are to be employed emitting. Nedap: The antennas are not all switched on at the same time but are operating successively, so antenna number 1 is switched on and number 2‐8 are switched off, no 2 is on while 1 and 3‐8 are off, etc. The antennas that can be connected are mentioned in the test report.
