Users Manual

Cat. No. 60-4351 OWNER’S MANUAL – Please read before using this equipment. ’58 Chevrolet Impala Lowrider Your RadioShack Impala Lowrider is built to handle the road with style, whether the road is the hallway in your house or the sidewalk outside. Built to 1/12 scale, your Impala Lowrider can reach speeds of up to 650 feet per minute. You can cruise the sidewalks of your neighborhood speeding forward or backward, rocking from side to side, bouncing the rear of the car up and down. Your Impala Lowrider will be the primo ride on your block! You need the following items (not supplied) to power your Impala Lowrider: . one 9V battery for the transmitter . at least one 9.6 volt rechargeable battery pack for the car . one battery pack charger [FCC DOC wordings here.] Note: The manufacturer is not responsible for any radio or TV interference caused by unauthorized modifications to this equipment. Such modifications could void the user’s authority to operate the equipment. INSTALLING BATTERIES Cautions: Use only a fresh battery/battery pack of the required size and recommended type. If you will not be using the car for a week or more, remove the battery from the transmitter and the battery pack from the car. Batteries can leak chemicals that can damage electronic parts. Never leave dead or weak batteries in the car or the transmitter. Warning: Dispose of old batteries promptly and properly. Do not burn or bury them. In the Transmitter The transmitter requires one 9-volt battery. For the best performance and longest life, we recommend a RadioShack alkaline battery. 1. Slide ON/OFF on the transmitter to OFF. 2. Press the tab on the battery compartment cover and open the cover. 3. Place a battery in the battery compartment according to the polarity symbols (+ and -) marked inside. 4. Close the cover. Note: When the transmitter’s range decreases, replace its battery. In The Car The car requires one 9.6-volt rechargeable battery pack for power. You must charge a rechargeable battery pack before you can use it to power your car. To charge it, follow the battery charger’s instructions. 1. Slide ON/OFF on the bottom of the car to OFF. 2. Use a coin to turn the battery compartment cover’s latches clockwise until they stop. Then lift off the cover. 3. Put the battery pack in the compartment with the battery pack’s connector on the same side as the car’s matching connector. 4. Attach the battery pack’s white connector to the car’s matching connector. Do not force them! They only fit together one way. 5. Replace the cover and turn the latches counterclockwise until they stop. Be sure the connectors and wires do not touch the car’s moving parts. If the car loses power or does not respond to the transmitter, recharge the battery pack. Note : Occasionally, let the battery pack fully discharge before recharging it. Otherwise the battery pack may lose its ability to fully charge. DRIVING THE IMPALA LOWRIDER Warning: This car can reach much higher speeds than many other radio-controlled cars. Be careful to avoid high-speed collisions with people and objects. Note: To perform the coolest stunts, your Impala Lowrider needs to be running at high speed. 1. Slide ON/OFF on the car and transmitter to ON. 2. Use the transmitter’s lever to drive and steer the Impala Lowrider, and also use the transmitter’s lever to up and down for car hood and real hood. Caution: If the Impala Lowrider gets stuck under an object, immediately release the transmitter’s control levers and retrieve the car. 3. When you finish playing with the car, slide ON/OFF on the car and the transmitter to OFF. ADJUSTING WHEEL ALIGNMENT If the Impala Lowrider does not drive in a straight line when you release the right control lever, adjust the wheel alignment control (between the front wheels, underneath the car). Slide the control toward L (left) if the car is pulling to the right, or toward R (right) if the car is pulling to the left.

Operational Description

Applicant : Suncon Toys Industry Ltd. Circuit Description Q2 the 27.145 Mhz crystal oscillator drives the base of Q1 the final/buffer amplifier. Summed into the same base(Q1) is the modulation provided by IC1. The output of Q1 has the matching network consisting of L1,L2, C1, that limit the harmonic content and effect the proper coupling of the antenna to the output stage. Antenna, Ground, and Power Source The antenna consists of a 45cm long telescoping chrome over brass tubing. There is no external ground connection. The ground is only that of print circuit board. Electric current is supplied by a 9 Volt primary storage cell.
