P.O.Box 42 Tefen Industrial Park 24959 Tefen Tel:972-4- 9873066,Fax:972-4- 9873692 E-mail:[email protected] www.kpsystems.com 12/25/12 Timco Engineeri ng, Inc. P.O. Box 370 Newberr y, FL 32669 We are requestin g li mit ed modular appro val for our Module , FCC ID: H78ELB160PIT. We meet the modular appro val re quire ments as lis ted below: 1. The modula r tra nsmitter must have its own RF shie ld ing. This is intended to ensure that the module does not have to re ly upon the shielding pro vid ed by the devic e into whic h it is installed in ord er for all modula r transmitter emissions to comply with Part 15 li mit s. It is also in tended to pre vent coupli ng between the RF circuitry of the module and any wires or cir cuit s in the device in to whic h the module is installed. Such coupli ng may re sult in non- compli ant operation. The design of our module does not have its own RF shielding. But we intend to use it only in our own products. 2. The modula r tra nsmitter must have buffere d modulation/ data in puts (if such inputs are pro vided) to ensure that the module wil l comply wit h Part 15 re quirements under conditions of excessive data ra tes or over-modulation. Our product in cludes has TX buffered inputs. 3. The modular transmitter must have it s own power supply re gula tion. This is in tended to ensure that the module will comply with Part 15 re quirements regardle ss of the design of the power supplyin g circuit ry in the devic e into whic h the module is installed. Our product has an in tegra ted 3.3v regula tor for the ISM radio. 4. The modula r transmitt er must comply wit h the antenna re quire ments of Sectio n 15.203 and 15.204(c). The antenna must eit her be permanently attached or employ a “unique” ante nna coupler (at all connections between the module and the antenna, inclu din g the cable). Any antenna used wit h the module must be appro ved wit h the module, eit her at the time of initial authoriz ation or through a Class II permissive change. The “pro fessional installation” pro visio n of Sectio n 15.203 may not be applied to modules. Our product contains an in tegra ted antenna – i. e. chip antenna – for the ISM radio. P.O.Box 42 Tefen Industrial Park 24959 Tefen Tel:972-4- 9873066,Fax:972-4- 9873692 E-mail:[email protected] www.kpsystems.com 5. The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configura tion, i.e., the module must not be inside another device during testing. This is intended to demonstra te that the module is capable of complying with Part 15 emission limits regardless of the device into which it is eventually installed. Unless the transmitte r module will be battery powere d, it must comply with the AC line conducted requirements found in Section 15.207. AC or DC po wer lines and data input/output lin es connected to the module must not contain ferr ites; unless they will be marketed with the module (s ee Section 15.27(a)) . The length of these lin es shall be length typical of actual use or, if that length is unknown, at least 10 centimeters to insure that there is no couplin g between the case of the module and supporting equipment. Any accessories, peripherals, or support equipment connected to the module during te sting shall be unmodified or commerc ially available (see Section 15.31(i)) . The module was tested stand alone. 6. The modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number, and, if the FCC ID is not visible when the module is installed inside another device, then the outside of the device into which the module is installed must also display a label referring to the enclosed module. This exterior label can use wording such as the following: “Contains Transmitt er Module FCC ID: XYZMODEL1” or “C ontains FCC ID: XYZMODEL1.” Any si milar wording that expresses the same meaning may be used. The Grantee may either provide such a label, an example of which must be included in the application for equipment authorization, or, must provide adequate instructions along with the module which explain this requirement. In the latter case, a copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. Our module will contain the FCC ID and there will be a label on the outside of the pro duct that states that the product contains the FCC ID of the module. 7. The modular transmitte r must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitte r and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. A copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. For example, there are very strict operational and timing requirements that must be met before a transmitter is authorized fo r operation under Section 15.231. For instance, data transmission is prohibited, except for operation under Section 15.231(e), in which case there are separate field strength level and timing requirements. Compliance with these requirements must be assured. The user’ s manual supplied with the module will contact adequate instru ctions for the module. 8 The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure require ments. For example, FCC Rules in Sections 2.1091, 2.1093 and specific Sections of Part 15, including 15.319(i), 15.407(f), 15.253(f) and 15.255(g), require that Unlicensed PCS, UNII and mill imeter wave devices perform routine environmental evaluation for RF Exposure to demonstrate compliance. In addition, spread spectru m transmitters operating under Section 15.247 are required to address RF Exposure compliance in accordance with Section 15.247(b)(4). Modular transmitters approved under other Sections of Part 15, when necessa ry, may also need to address certain RF Exposure concerns, typically by providing specific installation and operating instructions for users, installers and other interested parties to ensure compliance. Our module is a very low power module which compli…
