An EMG101 Gateway links to wireless 802.15.4 electronic shelf label tags. It installs in minutes anywhere a CAT-5e (or better) cable is located. The EMG101 Gateway ships with two single-band 2.4GHz 802.15.4 radios. The radios are configured for redundant operation. If the currently operating radio fails, the gateway will automatically activate the second radio. The EMG101 Gateway is approved under MODEL: EMG101. Symbol recommends the EMG101 Gateway receive power and transfer data through the same CAT-5e (or better) Ethernet cable using a Symbol Power Injector. The Power Injector ((Part No. AP-PSBIAS-2P2-AFR) is an 802.3af PoE injector. For information, see Power Injector System. A separate power supply (Part No. PWRS-147376-01R) is also available if you do not wish to use a Power Injector. This standard power supply just…

MPE CALCULATION FORMULA Pd = (Pout*G) / (4*pi*r 2 ) where Pd = power density in mW/cm 2 Pout = output power to antenna in mW G = gain of antenna in linear scale pi = 3.1416 r = distance between observation point and center of the radiator in cm 4. CLASSIFICATION The antenna of this product, under normal use condition, is at least 20cm away from the body of the user. So, this device is classified as Mobile Device. 5. ANTENNA GAIN The antenna provided to the EUT, please refer to the following table: Gain (dBi) Exclude cable loss Cable Loss (dB) Net Gain (dBi) Connecter Type Frequency range (MHz to MHz) Antenna Type 3.2 0.47 2.73 NA 2400~2500 Dipole Report No.: SA140808E01 R1 6 of 6 Report Format Version 5.0.1 Cancels and replaces the report No.: SA140808E01 dated Aug. 21, 2014 6. CALCULATION RESULT OF MAXIMUM CONDUCTED POWER Radio circuit 1: FREQUENCY (MHz) MAX POWER (mW) ANTENNA GAIN (dBi) DISTANCE (cm) POWER DENSITY (mW/cm 2 ) LIMIT (mW/cm 2 ) 2405 ~ 2475 26.485 2.73 20 0.00988 1 Note: Directional gain = 5dBi + 10log(2) = 8.01dBi. Radio circuit 2: FREQUENCY (MHz) MAX POWER (mW) ANTENNA GAIN (dBi) DISTANCE (cm) POWER DENSITY (mW/cm 2 ) LIMIT (mW/cm 2 ) 2405 ~ 2475 24.831 2.73 20 0.00926 1 Note: Directional gain = 7dBi + 10log(2) = 10.01dBi. --- END --- CONCLUSION: Both of the radio circuit 1 and radio circuit 2 can transmit simultaneously, the formula of calculated the MPE is: CPD 1 / LPD 1 + CPD 2 / LPD 2 + ......etc. < 1 CPD = Calculation power density LPD = Limit of power density Therefore, the worst-case situation is 0.00988 / 1 + 0.00926 / 1= 0.019, which is less than “1”. This confirmed that the device comply with FCC 1.1310 MPE limit.
