The Ericsson ROK 101 007 module digital interface is at 3.3-volt CMOS levels. All inputs to the CC15727-1 module are buffered. Additional buffering is present at the inputs of the ROK 101 007. There is a voltage regulator on the CC15727-1 module that steps down from 5 volts to 3.3 volts. There is additional voltage regulation on the ROK 101 007 module. The Ericsson module is self-resetting at power-up.
ROK 101 007 Bluetooth Module Description ROK 101 007 is a short-range module for implementing Bluetooth function- ality into various electronic devices. The module consists of three major parts; a baseband controller, a flash memory, and a radio that operates in the globally available 2.4–2.5 GHz free ISM band. Both data and voice transmission is supported by the module. Communica- tion between the module and the host controller is carried out using a high- speed USB interface compliant with USB Specifications 1.1 or an UART/ PCM interface. When using the USB interface, the module appears as a USB slave device and therefore requires no PC resources. ROK 101 007, which is compliant with Bluetooth version 1.0B, is a Class 2 Bluetooth Module (0 dBm) and is type-approved. The module supports all Bluetooth profiles. This information includes the following: A minimum separation distance of 2.5 cm must be maintained between the antenna and the person for this device to satisfy the RF exposure requirements of the FCC. The maximum output power allowed for the Bluetooth radio is 100 mW. Bluetooth operates in the unlicensed ISM Band at 2.4 GHz. In the US a band of 83.5 MHz width is available. In this band, 79 RF channels spaced 1MHz apart a defined. The channel is represented by a pseudo-random hopping sequence through the 79 channels. The channel is devided into time slots, with a nominal slot length of 625μs, where each slot corresponds to different RF hop frequencies. The nominal hop rate is 1600 hops/s.
