T3015 RF MODULE USER GUIDE TiL 126554 -1- INTRODUCTION The T3015 RF module is a Dual Band transceiver assembly that operates in 136-174 MHZ and 450-520 MHz range. The T3015 RF module is a modified Motorola APX 7000 VHF/UHHi portable radio. The outer casing, top controls, front display and keypad are removed. The RF chassis is slightly machined but all electronic circuits are unmodified from the original APX 7000 radio. The transceiver is designed to be installed and operated in a Technisonic Multiband Airborne Radio TDFM 9000 platform. All external power and antenna connections are provided by the TDFM 9000 as well as controls are via the front panel and display from the TDFM 9000. The RF module is capable of operating on Analog FM, Wide and Narrow and Project 25 Phase 1 conventional and P25 Trunked Phase 1 and 2 systems. The modular transmitter provides limiting and data buffering on the inputs to prevent over modulation. 3. The module must contain power supply regulation on the module. The modular transmitter has its own power supply regulation. 4. The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirements of Section 15.203 and 15.204(c). Not applicable for licensed module 5. The module must demonstrate compliance in a stand-alone configuration. The modular transmitter was tested in a standalone configuration. 6. The modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number, and, if the FCC ID is not visible when the module is installed inside another device, then the outside of the device into which the module is installed must also display a label referring to the enclosed module. This exterior label can use wording such as the following: “Contains Transmitter Module FCC ID: XYZMODEL1” or “Contains FCC ID: XYZMODEL1.” Any similar wording that expresses the same meaning may be used. The Grantee may either provide such a label, an example of which must be included in the application for equipment authorization, or, must provide adequate instructions along with the module which explain this requirement. In the latter case, a copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization. The modular transmitter is labeled with FCC identification number. The label can not be seen when installed in the main unit. A label will be placed on the outside of the unit that states: ‘Contains FCC ID: IMA-T3015’ 7. The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. A copy of these instructions must be included in the application for equipment authorization A copy of the instructions are provided with the application. 8. The modular transmitter must comply with any applicable RF exposure requirements. For example, FCC Rules in Sections 2.1091, 2.1093. Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) evaluation was conducted, specific instructions for users and installers are provided that ensures that the public is not exposed to radio frequency energy levels in excess of the commission’s guidelines. Phillips PM3382. 10) Multimeter: Hewlett Packard 34401A. 11) DC Power Supply: Hewlett Packard 6623A 12) Directional Coupler: Hewlett Packard 778D, Dual Directional Coupler. 13) Temperature Chamber: VOTSCH, VT4010. 14) 30 dB attenuator: MCE/Weinschel, model 33-30-34 15) HP35665A Dynamic Signal Analyzer 16) High Pass Filter, Mini-Circuit NHP 300 & 25W 17) MCE/Weinschel 1429-4, 50 ohms terminating load RF Power Output Pursuant to FCC Rules 2.1046 (a) Method of Measurement The RF power output is measured with the transmitter adjusted in accordance with the tune-up procedure outlined in Exhibit 10 to give the value of voltage and current as specified in Exhibit 12 as required by 2.1033(c) (8). A 50-ohm RF attenuator of proper power rating was used as a load for making these measurements. The power measurements are made using an Agilent series E4419B RF power meter and 30 dB attenuator. Audio Frequency Response Pursuant FCC Rules 2.1047 (a) Method of Measurement Operate the transmitter under standard test conditions and monitor the output with a frequency deviation meter or calibrated test receiver. With 1000 Hz sine wave audio input applied through a dummy microphone circuit, adjust the audio input to give 20% of full rated system deviation. Maintaining a constant input voltage, vary the input frequency from 300 to 3000 Hz, and observe the deviation. Minimum Standard The audio frequency response shall not vary more than +1 or -3 dB from 300 to 3000 Hz from a true 6 dB per octave pre-emphasis characteristic as referenced to 1000 Hz level, with the exception of a permissible 6 dB/octave roll off below 500 Hz. Equivalent to TIA/EIA 603 Section 5.2.6.2 mask. Applicant: Motorola Inc. FCC ID: AZ489FT4893 EXHIBIT 7 SHEET 3 OF 6 Audio Low Pass Filter Response Pursuant FCC …
