December 23, 2003 RE: Savi Technology FCC ID: KL7-650MR-V1 In response to your comments dated December 23, 2003. 1) 1) The data provided for 15.209, 433.92 MHz transmission does not appear to meet with the requirement of 15.209(c). Please verify the data and/or check the dynamic range of the test setup used during spurious emissions testing.. The level of the third harmonic measured with a peak detector in a 1000kHz bandwidth is greater than the QP reading for the fundamental in 120kHz due mostly to the fact that the peak measurement is of the instrumentation noise floor. As the transmitted signal measured was a CW signal the average measurement of the third harmonic should be the measurement used to compare the actual level of the third harmonic with the level of the fundamental signal to demonstrate compliance with FCC 15.209 (c). The average measurement for the third harmonic (33.6dBuV/m) is below the QP measurement of the fundamental (45.1dBuV/m). Please advise if it is necessary to make a peak measurement of the fundamental signal. I hope this answers all of your questions. Regards Mark Briggs

January 9, 2004 RE: Savi Technology FCC ID: KL7-650MR-V1 In response to your comments dated December 23, 2003. In order to show compliance to 15.209(c), please provide a measurement for both 433.92 & 1735.680 using the same measurement settings for both in order to fully show that the fundamental is higher than the harmonic. Please be sure to include information regarding the settings used. Note, it would be preferable to provide a peak measurement for both. Additional measurements have been taken (please refer to page 9 of 20 in the test data in the Appendix of the report) using the same resolution bandwidths for both fundamental and harmonic to demonstrate compliance with 15.209(c). 2) Additionally, please confirm the QP measurement for the fundamental already provided was taken with the fundamental in a CW mode of operation, not pulsed. If pulsed, please explain compliance to 15.35(a). All radiated measurements on the transmitter were made with the device in a CW- mode of transmission. I hope this answers all of your questions. Regards Mark Briggs
