American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 October 2, 2002 RE: FCC ID: LJPNKC-1X Attention: Kare Oksanen I have a few comments on this Application. 1 The FCC requires separate test setup files and report files. Pelase separate the test setup photos and provide them as a separate file. 2 On the modulation limiting plots the vertical axis name has been blackened out. While it is obvious what this should be, please clarify the plots by labeling the vertical axis. 3 The voice bandwidth plot on page 21 of the report does not seem to have the typically expected characteristics of a 2500Hz modulated signal. Please explain. 4 Please provide an ESN attestation showing the device meets 22.919 Dennis Ward mailto:[email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. RESPONSE 1 (1) TCC Oulu Kare Oksanen Oct 3, 2002 1 The FCC requires separate test setup files and report files. Pelase separate the test setup photos and provide them as a separate file. All photos have been captured into a separate document, which has been uploaded into your server. 2 On the modulation limiting plots the vertical axis name has been blackened out. While it is obvious what this should be, please clarify the plots by labeling the vertical axis. Vertical axis labels should be - in section 8 (Frequency Response and Low Pass Filter): ‘Deviation in dB Relative to 1kHz’ - in section 9 (Modulation Limiting): ‘Deviation (kHz)’ 3 The voice bandwidth plot on page 21 of the report does not seem to have the typically expected characteristics of a 2500Hz modulated signal. Please explain. It looks like 2500Hz sine wave was overdriven with too high signal level. Below is the plot with correctly leveled 2500Hz sine wave. 4 Please provide an ESN attestation showing the device meets 22.919 In FCC news dated August 8, 2002, FCC announced streamlining of its part 22 rules. The Report and Order (FCC 02-229) removed the manufacturing requirements found in section 22.919 governing electronic serial numbers (ESNs) in cellular telephones.
