The ESN host component is permanently attached to a main circuit board of the mobile transmitter and the integrity of the unit’s operating software is not alterable. The ESN is isolated from fraudulent contact and tampering. The host component does contain other information, and the ESN information is encoded using: (1) The spreading of ESN bits over various non-sequential memory locations. The ESN is factory set and is not alterable, transferable, removable, or otherwise able to be manipulated.
