From: Tom Cokenias [[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2002 5:21 PM To: Mike Kuo Subject: Re: FW: Breezecom Ltd., FCC ID:LKT-DS58, AN02T1907 ANS1. Attached are correct MPE calculations. Note the 28.5 dish gain is expressed as 29 dBi because I found out from Alvarion it is max 29, typical 28.5. I have also updated the table in the test report and the user manual to reflect this change. ANS2 The integral antenna is for the end user (subscriber) installation. This antenna only talks to the base station so it is point to point always. 28.5/29 dBi dish is point to point, omni 7.5dBi is point to multi-point, and sector 17 dBi is point to multipoint and Point to Point . ANS3 I separated out the power density plot and it is attached, it seems to be a clear plot ANS4 I re-wrote the paragraph in the report to make it clear how I determined the required out of band field strenth using the EV/m = (Ε‘(30*PW*G))/d meters relationship. This way you don't need to follow the tedious math that converts everything to dB -----Original Message----- From: CERTADM Sent: Wednesday, March 27, 2002 5:10 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: Breezecom Ltd., FCC ID:LKT-DS58, AN02T1907 Notice_content ------------- Question #1:Antenna type and Antenna gain: In the test report, Four type of antennas were tested. The antenna gains are : Integral-21dBi; Omni-7.5dBi; Sector-17dBi; and Dish-28.5dBi. However, in the MPE calculation, the antenna gain used for calculation are different than those documented in the test report. Please verify the information again and provide revised test data as necessary. Question #2: Please confirm : Antennas for point-to-point are: Integral( panel ) antenna with 21dBi gain and Dish/Sp2-5 antenna with 28dBi gain. For point-to-multipoint are : Omni with 7dBi gain, Sector with 17dBi gaina and Integral antenna with 21dBi gain. Question #3: Power Density plots can not be read. Please provide a clear copy of plots. Question #4: Please explain how you calculate 95.24dB in the page 4 of test report . The EUT was placed on a wooden table resting on a turntable on the open air test site. The search antenna was placed 3m from the EUT. The EUT antenna was mounted vertically as per normal installation. 2. The turntable was slowly rotated to locate the direction of maximum emission at each emission falling in the restricted bands of 15.205. 3. Radiated emissions were investigated for a LOW channel, a MID channel, and HIGH channel. Emissions were investigated to the 10 th harmonic. 4 4. Once maximum direction was determined, the search antenna was raised and lowered in both vertical and horizontal polarizations. The maximum readings so obtained are recorded in the data listed below. Test Procedures, 22 - 40 GHz: 5. The EUT was moved to within 1 m of the appropriate external mixer antenna used for the frequency band being investigated. 6. The external mixer antenna was raised and lowered in horizontal and vertical polarity along each face of the EUT and the EUT antenna. 7. Refer to separate Excel spread sheet files. NOTE: For radiated emissions that fall on restricted bands per 15.205, emissions limit is 54 dBuV/m at 3 m for emissions above 960 MHz. Per 15.247(c) all other undesired emissions must be 20 dB below the highest in-band emission when measured in a 100 kHz bandwidth. Conducted measurements are presented for emissions up to 26.5 GHz. For emissions above 26.5 GHz only radiated emissions were possible due to the operating frequency limitation of the spectrum analyzer. The equivalent field strength for a radiated emission 20 dB below peak emission is calculated below: 24.2 dBm - 20 dB = 4.2 dBm conducted emission maximum. Assume 0 dBi = 1 numeric (worst case for radiated emission limit) antenna gain , out of band. Test Report

11 Processing gain measurements 1.1 Processing gain according to Β§15.247 (e)(2) 1.1.1 General This test was performed to demonstrate that the processing gain of the system was at least 10 dB. 1.1.2 Test procedure The processing gain was measured using the CW jamming margin method. Test setup is shown in Figure 1. A signal generator was stepped in 50 kHz increments across the pass band of the system, recording at each point the generator level required to produce the BER = 10 -5 . This level was the jammer level. The output power of the intentional radiator was measured at the same point. The jammer to signal ratio (J/S) was then calculated, discarding the worst 20% of the J/S data points. The lowest remaining J/S ratio was used to calculate the processing gain as follows: G p = (S/N) o + M j + L sys , where G p = processing gain of the system, (S/N) o = signal to noise ratio = 16.4 dB @ BER 10 -5 (Alvarion Declaration) M j = J/S ratio, the worst case, was found –1.7 dB, L sys = system losses = 2 dB; hence G p = 16.4 – 1.7 + 2 = 16.7 dB. > 10dB APPENDIX A – Test equipment and ancillaries used for tests Serial No. Description Manufacturer Model No. Due Calibr. 3412A00137 Spectrum analyzer, 9 kHz-22 GHz Hewlett Packard 8529L Oct-30-2002 3308A72547 Attenuator, 50 Ohm, 2W, 0- 18 GHz, 0-110dB Hewlett Packard 8496B Oct-30-2002 3308A40537 Attenuator, 50 Ohm, 2W, 0- 18 GHz, 0-11dB Hewlett Packard 8494B Oct-30-2002 GB40513342 Power meter, RF Agilent E4419B Oct-30-2002 US38482878 Power sensor, E series sensor –70-+20dBm, 50MHz-26.5GHz Agilent E4413B Oct-30-2002 US37100986 Frequency synthesized signal generator 1-20GHz Agilent 83731B July-3-2002 Channel 1 Minimum process gain:16.7 Frequency(S/N)ReferenceJammerJ/SSystemProcess SignalLossesGain [MHz][dB][dBm][dBm][dB][dB][dB] 5731.516.4-44.4-46.1-1.7216.7 5731.5516.4-44.4-46-1.6216.8 5731.616.4-44.4-46-1.6216.8 5731.6516.4-44.4-45.9-1.5216.9 5731.716.4-44.4-45.9-1.5216.9 5731.7516.4-44.4-45.9-1.5216.9 5731.816.4-44.4-45.9-1.5216.9 5731.8516.4-44.4-45.8-1.4217 5731.916.4-44.4-45.8-1.4217 5731.9516.4-44.4-45.9-1.5216.9 573216.4-44.4-45.9-1.5216.9 5732.0516.4-44.4-45.7-1.3217.1 5732.116.4-44.4-45.7-1.3217.1 5732.1516.4-44.4-45.8-1.4217 5732.216.4-44.4-45.6-1.2217.2 5732.2516.4-44.4-45.7-1.3217.1 5732.316.4-44.4-45.7-1.3217.1 5732.3516.4-44.4-45.6-1.2217.2 5732.416.4-44.4-45.7-1.3217.1 5732.4516.4-44.4-45.7-1.3217.1 5732.516.4-44.4-45.6-1.2217.2 5732.5516.4-44.4-45.5-1.1217.3 5732.616.4-44.4-45.3-0.9217.5 5732.6516.4-44.4-45.1-0.7217.7 5732.716.4-44.4-44.6-0.2218.2 5732.7516.4-44.4-42.81.6220 5732.816.4-44.4-42.91.5219.9 5732.8516.4-44.4-42.81.6220 5732.916.4-44.4-42.81.6220 5732.9516.4-44.4-42.81.6220 573316.4-44.4-42.71.7220.1 5733.0516.4-44.4-42.71.7220.1 5733.116.4-44.4-42.51.9220.3 5733.1516.4-44.4-42.61.8220.2 5733.216.4-44.4-42.32.1220.5 5733.2516.4-44.4-42.51.9220.3 5733.316.4-44.4-42.32.1220.5 5733.3516.4-44.4-42.42220.4 5733.416.4-44.4-42.51.9220.3 5733.4516.4-44.4-42.32.1220.5 5733.516.4-44.4-42.32.1220.5 5733.5516.4-44.4-42.12.3220.7 5733.616.4-44.4-42.22.2220.6 5733.6516.4-44.4-42.12.3220.7 5733.716.4-44.4-422.4220.8 5733.7516.4-44.4-422.4220.8 5733.816.4-44.4-41.82.6221 5733.8516.4-44.4-41.72.7221.1 5733.916.4-44.4-41.82.6221 5733.9516.4-44.4-41.43221.4 573416.4-44.4-41.33.1221.5 5734.0516.4-44.4-40.93.5221.9 5734.116.4-44.4-40.93.5221.9 5734.1516.4-44.4-40.73.7222.1 5734.216.4-44.4-40.83.6222 5734.2516.4-44.4-40.53.9222.3 5734.316.4-44.4-40.63.8222.2 5734.3516.4-44.4-40.63.8222.2 5734.416.4-44.4-40.44222.4 5734.4516.4-44.4-40.53.9222.3 5734.516.4-44.4-40.24.2222.6 5734.5516.4-44.4-404.4222.8 5734.616.4-44.4-40.14.3222.7 5734.6516.4-44.4-404.4222.8 5734.716.4-44.4-39.94.5222.9 5734.7516.4-44.4-39.94.5222.9 5734.816.4-44.4-39.74.7223.1 5734.8516.4-44.4-39.84.6223 5734.916.4-44.4-39.84.6223 5734.9516.4-44.4-39.64.8223.2 573516.4-44.4-39.54.9223.3 5735.0516.4-44.4-39.54.9223.3 5735.116.4-44.4-39.64.8223.2 5735.1516.4-44.4-39.45223.4 5735.216.4-44.4-39.54.9223.3 5735.2516.4-44.4-39.45223.4 5735.316.4-44.4-39.35.1223.5 5735.3516.4-44.4-39.35.1223.5 5735.416.4-44.4-39.25.2223.6 5735.4516.4-44.4-39.15.3223.7 5735.516.4-44.4-39.15.3223.7 5735.5516.4-44.4-395.4223.8 5735.616.4-44.4-39.15.3223.7 5735.6516.4-44.4-395.4223.8 5735.716.4-44.4-38.95.5223.9 5735.7516.4-44.4-38.95.5223.9 5735.816.4-44.4-38.85.6224 5735.8516.4-44.4-38.75.7224.1 5735.916.4-44.4-38.95.5223.9 5735.9516.4-44.4-38.85.6224 573616.4-44.4-38.75.7224.1 5736.0516.4-44.4-38.95.5223.9 5736.116.4-44.4-38.85.6224 5736.1516.4-44.4-38.75.7224.1 5736.216.4-44.4-38.75.7224.1 5736.2516.4-44.4-38.75.7224.1 5736.316.4-44.4-38.65.8224.2 5736.3516.4-44.4-38.55.9224.3 5736.416.4-44.4-38.46224.4 5736.4516.4-44.4-38.46224.4 5736.516.4-44.4-38.55.9224.3 5736.5516.4-44.4-38.46224.4 5736.616.4-44.4-38.46224.4 5736.6516.4-44.4-38.55.9224.3 5736.716.4-44.4-38.46224.4 5736.7516.4-44.4-38.46224.4 5736.816.4-44.4-38.36.1224.5 5736.8516.4-44.4-38.36.1224.5 5736.916.4-44.4-38.26.2224.6 5736.9516.4-44.4-38.26.2224.6 573716.4-44.4-38.16.3224.7 5737.0516.4-44.4-38.16.3224.7 5737.116.4-44.4-38.26.2224.6 5737.1516.4-44.4-38.16.3224.7 5737.216.4-44.4-386.4224.8 5737.2516.4-44.4-38.16.3224.7 5737.316.4-44.4-38.16.3224.7 5737.3516.4-44.4-38.16.3224.7 5737.416.4-44.4-38.16.3224.7 5737.4516.4-44.4-38.16.3224.7 5737.516.4-44.4-386.4224.8 5737.5516.4-44.4-386.4224.8 5737.616.4-44.4-386.4224.8 5737.6516.4-44.4-386.4224.8 5737.716.4-44.4-37.96.5224.9 5737.7516.4-44.4-37.96.5224.9 5737.816.4-44.4-386.4224.8 5737.8516.4-44.4-37.96.5224.9 5737.916.4-44.4-37.96.5224.9 5737.9516.4-44.4-37.96.5224.9 573816.4-44.4-37.86.6225 5738.0516.4-44.4-37.66.8225.2 5738.116.4-44.4-37.47225.4 5738.1516.4-44.4-37.56.9225.3 5738.216.4-44.4-37.47225.4 5738.2516.4-44.4-37.37.1225.5 5738.316.4-44.4-37.27.2225.6 5738.3516.4-44.4-37.17.3225.7 5738.416.4-44.4-37.17.3225.7 5738.4516.4-44.4-37.17.3225.7 5738.516.4-44.4-377.4225.8 5738.5516.4-44.4-377.4225.8 5738.616.4-44.4-36.97.5225.9 5738.6516.4-44.4-36.97.5225.9 5738.716.4-44.4-36.87.6226 5738.7516.4…
