Model Version Description Y84580-2 RA6E1 The RA6E1 uses a Renesas RA6 family microcontroller in place of the NXP Kinetis K family of microcontrollers. The RA6E1 uses a TI boost converter instead of a Maxim boost converter. Y84092-1 K24 The K24 uses an NXP Kinetis K family of microcontroller. The K24 Version uses a Maxim boost converter. 1. The functions of both versions are the same. 2. The clocks, tuning circuits, antennas, RF power, and modulation remained unchanged. 3. The radio parameters are the same in all products. 4. Aclara Technologies LLC, acknowledges that this equipment meets the requirement of FCC Rules, Part 90.203(g)(3). Justification The models Y84580-2 and Y84092-1 radio transceiver submitted is used as a part of a utility meter reading system. The Y84580-2 and Y84092-1 transmitters send data with a 4GFSK modulation at a rate of 9600 bps. The emissions designator is 8K34F1D. As the Y84580-2 and Y84092-1 do transmit at 9600 bps with a bandwidth of 8.3 kHz, they are capable of supporting a minimum data rate of 4800 bits per second per 6.25 kHz of bandwidth. Tune Up Procedures The assigned frequencies, transmitter power setting, and other configuration parameters for the radio are loaded into the microprocessor memory by the factory prior to the meter integration step. There are no factory or user adjustable components in the radio, so no tuning is required. All operation is controlled by the microprocessor firmware.
