General Description The Corporate Fob system consists of a RF transmitter integrated into the key and a RF receiver mounted within the control unit. The transmitter is used to transmit information to the receiver for locking, unlocking, opening the trunk, starting the vehicle, and Panic function. RF messages can be transmitted by one of two means. The keypad on the key can be used for locking, unlocking, unlocking the trunk, panic, and remote start (5 button version). Lifting the door handle or pushing the start button in the vehicle will generate a LF field, which the key will respond to with a RF transmission to unlock or start the vehicle. Power Supply The transmitter is power by a single 3V CR2032 lithium battery. Buttons There are up to five buttons on the key, which are used for RKE lock, unlock, trunk, panic, and remote start. Variants There are six variants of the 215/245/295 keys. These variants are described under the device ID section. All variants are electronically identical. The differences are in the packaging. There is a four button housing, and a five button housing as well as two types of emblems. There are also two types of labels (laser etch) which help the customer differentiate between key #1 and key #2.

Liepa Valdis V. Liepa Research Scientist Summary Tests for compliance with FCC Regulations Part 15, Subpart C, and Industry Canada RSS-210, were performed on Siemens model(s) 5WY7748, 5WY7749, 5WY7757, 5WY7758, 5WY7777, 5WY7778. This device is subject to the Rules and Regulations as a Transmitter. In testing completed on February 3, 2006, the device tested in the worst case met the allowed FCC specifications for radiated emissions by 0.5 dB (see p. 6-7). Besides harmonics, there were no other significant spurious emissions found; emissions from digital circuitry were negligible. The conducted emission tests do not apply, since the device is powered from a 3 V dc battery. University of Michigan Radiation Laboratory FCC Part 15, IC RSS-210/Gen - Test Report No. 415031-277 Page 2 of 16 1. Introduction Siemens models 5WY7748, 5WY7749, 5WY7757, 5WY7758, 5WY7777, 5WY7778 were tested for compliance with FCC Regulations, Part 15, adopted under Docket 87-389, April 18, 1989, and with Industry Canada RSS-210/Gen, Issue 6, September 2005. The tests were performed at the University of Michigan Radiation Laboratory Willow Run Test Range following the procedures described in ANSI C63.4-2003 "Methods of Measurement of Radio-Noise Emissions from Low-Voltage Electrical and Electronic Equipment in the Range of 9 kHz to 40 GHz". The Site description and attenuation characteristics of the Open Site facility are on file with FCC Laboratory, Columbia, Maryland (FCC Reg. No: 91050) and with Industry Canada, Ottawa, ON (File Ref. No: IC 2057). 2. Test Procedure and Equipment Used The pertinent test equipment commonly used in our facility for measurements is listed in Table 2.1 below. Configuration and Identification of Device Under Test The DUT is a 315 MHz transmitter, 1.5 x 0.25 x 1 inches in size. The device is capable of transmitting three different protocols. One protocol is used for Remote Start functionality in the vehicle, the second protocol is used for standard Remote Keyless Entry (RKE), and the final protocol is used for Passive Keyless Entry (PKE). The PKE protocol is a shortened version of the RKE protocol. The DUT transmits only ASK data and its carrier is PLL generated, sourced from a 9.04 MHz reference crystal. The antenna is a trace on the PCB. The DUT was designed and manufactured by Siemens VDO Automotive, 4685 Investment Drive, Troy, MI 48098. It is identified as: Siemens VDO Automotive Transmitter Model(s): 5WY7748, 5WY7749, 5WY7757, 5WY7758, 5WY7777, 5WY7778 FCC ID: M3N5WY7777 IC: 267F-5WY7777 All six variants are electronically identical; differences are in packaging. There are four button and five button housings, two types of emblems, and two labels (laser etched) which help the customer differentiate between key #1 and key #2. See labeling exhibit for details. Most populated device was fully tested. The device may be actuated from either a button press or an LF interrogation from a matching vehicle. The LF interrogation is initiated by the user, Manchester encoded, and the RF response to this actuation (PKE protocol) is a foreshortened version of the RKE mode. Note: In all modes, the device ceases to transmit within 5 seconds of deactivation (see Figure 6.4). 3.1 Modifications…
