The transmitter is used to transmit information to the receiver for locking, unlocking, opening the trunk, starting the vehicle, and Panic function. RF messages can be transmitter by one of two means. The keypad on the key can be used for locking, unlocking, unlocking the trunk, panic, and remote start (5 button version). Lifting the door handle or pushing the start button in the vehicle will generate a LF field, which the key will respond to with a RF transmission to unlock or start the vehicle. Variants There are seven variants of the 215/245/295 keys. These variants are described under the device ID section. All variants are electronically identical. The differences are in the packaging. There is a three button housing, a four button housing, and a five button housing as well as three types of emblems. There are also two types of labels (laser etch) which help the customer differentiate between key #1 and key #2. The 295 version will also have a blank replacement key.
