Usage of the Wireless LAN Utility The Wireless LAN Utility consists of window with 5 items for you to monitor and configure the XG-600 MiniPCI Wireless Adapter: Configuration, Loop Back, AP Browser, Site Survey and About. 3 Configuration: The Configuration item allows you to modify the configuration parameters for the XG-600 MiniPCI Wireless Adapter such as Profile, Network Type, Channel, Transmit Rate, ESSID, WEP, RTS/CTS, Fragment Threshold, and Power Save mode. Furthermore, you may monitor the current status of the MiniPCI Wireless Adapter such as State, Current Channel, Current Tx Rate, Throughput, Link Quality and Signal Strength. Look Back: The Look Back tool helps you examine point-to-point data transmission quality between the your MiniPCI Wireless Adapter and any work station on the network. By entering IP address of the remote station, set ping interval and packet size, you may know whether communication has been made successfully or not. Additionally, if you use the infrastructure wireless LAN configuration, you may run the loopback test by click the Look back button to verify the communication quality between your wireless station and Access Point. 4 AP Browser: By clicking the Rescan button, the AP Browser can display all the Access Points around working environment. Besides showing the ESSID of each Access Point, it also display BSSID, Channel, Signal, Quality and Supported Rates. To join any of the displayed Access Point, highlight the Access Point you desire to connect and then click the Join BSS or Join ESS to join the group. Site Survey: When the Site Survey screen is displayed, the channel quality of all 14 radio channels will be displayed. These channel quality measurements are shown on each gauge for the 14 radio channels. The blue bar indicated the channel quality is clear and good. The higher the blue bar is, the better quality you have (i.e., less interference). The yellow bar indicates the channel quality is fair and the red bar indicates the channel is busy or having severe interference. 5 About: The About item shows the versions the Wireless LAN Utility, driver, firmware and utility of the XG-600 MiniPCI Wireless Adapter. Also, the MAC address and frequency domain is displayed. Technical Support You can find the most recent software and user documentation will be updated periodically on the supplier Web site. If you have difficulty resolving the problem while installing or using the XG-600 MiniPCI Wireless Adapter, please contact the supplier for support. 6 Limited Warranty Statement This Warranty constitutes the sole and exclusive remedy of any buyer or reseller’s equipment and the sole and exclusive liability of the supplier in connection with the products and is i…

Description of Operation EUT is a 2.4GHz 802.11g WLAN Mini PCI Card with 11 channels. This device provided four kind of transmitting speed 1,2,5.5 and 11Mbps. The device of RF carrier is DQPSK,DB PSK and CCK. The device adapts direct sequence spread spectrum modulation. The Connector antenna was scolded on PCB provided diversity function to improve the receiving function. This 2.4GHz 802.11g WLAN Mini PCI Card is an IEEE 802.11b Wireless LAN adapter. It allows your computer to connect to a wireless network and to share resources, such as files or printers without being bound to the network wires. Operation in 2.4GHz Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) radio transmission, the 2.4GHz 802.11g WLAN Mini PCI Card transfers data at speeds up to 64/128-bit Wired Equivalent Protection(WEP) algorithm is used. In addition, its standard compliance ensures that it can communicate with any 802.11b network.

RF EXPOSURE EVALUATION According to FCC 1.1310 : The criteria listed in the following table shall be used to evaluate the environment impact of human exposure to radio frequency (RF) radiation as specified in 1.1307(b) LIMITS FOR MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE EXPOSURE (MPE) Frequency Range (MHz) Electric Field Strength (V/m) Magnetic Field Strength (A/m) Power Density (mW/cm 2 ) Average Time (A) Limits for Occupational / Control Exposures 300-1,500----F/3006 1,500-100,000----56 (B) Limits for General Population / Uncontrol Exposures 300-1,500----F/15006 1,500-100,000----130 9.1 FRIIS FORMULA Friis transmission formula : Pd = (Pout*G)/(4*pi*r 2 ) Where Pd = power density in mW/cm 2 Pout = output power to antenna in mW G = gain of antenna in linear scale Pi = 3.1416 R = distance between observation point and center of the radiator in cm Pd id the limit of MPE, 1 mW/cm2. If we know the maximum gain of the antenna and the total power input to the antenna, through the calculation, we will know the distance r where the MPE limit is reached. 9.2 EUT OPERATING CONDITION A software provided by client enabled the EUT to transmit and receive data at lowest, middle and highest channel individually.
