Installation Note Part number 3E0477 R2 1 March 2004 3E0477 R1 February 2004 Introduction The Cardax 125 Encoder is used in conjunction with the Cardax Encoder III software, for encoding and re-encoding Cardax 125 Series proximity cards. Note: The Cardax 125 Encoder will only operate correctly with the Cardax Encoder III software installed. Before you begin Unpack the Cardax 125 Encoder and check the shipment contains the following items: • 1 x Cardax 125 Encoder • 1 x Cardax 125 Encoder Installation Note (part number 3E0477) • 1 x DB9 Female / Female cable Power Supply Requirements The Cardax 125 Encoder requires a supply of 13.6 V DC ± 15% with current at 200 mA per Encoder. Cardax 125 Encoder 2 Part number 3E0477 R2 March 2004 Approvals and Standards This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. INTRODUCTION This report describes the tests and measurements performed on the Cardax 125 Encoder for the purpose of determining compliance with the specification. The client selected the test sample. This report relates only to the sample tested. This report contains no corrections or erasures. Measurement uncertainties with statistical confidence intervals of 95% are shown below test results. Both Class A and Class B uncertainties have been accounted for, as well as influence uncertainties where appropriate. This report has been issued in addition to test report number 30326.3a and contains additional test results relating to tests carried out with 2 antennas attached. 4. Section 15.203: Antenna requirement As can be seen from the attached photographs the device has an internal unique antenna that cannot be easily accessed and therefore cannot be easily modified.
