Use of another type of AC adapter will result in malfunction and/or danger. Do not use the adapter in a high moisture environment. Never touch the adapter when your hands or feet are wet. Allow adequate ventilation around the adapter when using it to operate the device or charge the battery. Do not cover the AC adapter with paper or other objects that will reduce cooling. Do not use the AC adapter while it is inside a carrying case. Connect the adapter to a proper power source. The voltage requirements are found on the product case and/or packaging. Do not use the adapter if the cord becomes damaged. vi Do not attempt to service the unit. There are no serviceable parts inside. Replace the unit if it is damaged or exposed to excess moisture. vii About the Modem Caution 1. Never install telephone wiring during a lightning storm. 2. Never install telephone jacks in wet locations unless the jack is specifically designed for wet locations. 3. FCC ID: MAU011 After a review of the submitted information, I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. Administrative Issues: 1) Please provide a block diagram for the TX portion of the circuitry as required by CFR 2.1033(a)(5). 2) The authorization appears to be for Mitac, but states Wistron. Please explain or correct as necessary. 3) The operational Description mentions an GPRS/GSM/GPS option. Note that depending on how the approval is done for this addition or new model, this may require a Permissive Change application or a new FCC ID number. It is assumed that this application is not including this option and is currently being approved without co-location. Please comment. 4) The schematics do not include the RF mini-PCI card. Note that a schematic for the TX portion of the device is required as specified 2.1033(b)(5) for the RF section. Please provide either a schematic for the mini-PCI card or as an alternative, you may provide a parts list that lists that shows that this part is provided by another manufacturer. Please provide either a schematic or parts list as specified. If necessary, please update the confidentiality letter to include the parts list. 5) Is the frequency 2473 correct in the table in section 6.3 of the EMC report. Note that 2473 is not outside the band but is still inband (2400-2483.5 MHz). 6) The device is a computer and from the labeling appears that the device is also considered a class B PC peripheral subject to a DoC. Please confirm that the DoC testing has been done separately using a appropriately fully configured system according to ANSI C63.4. 7) SAR data has been provided, but the users manual page 10 (labeled as viii, page 147 (labeled as B-6), page 148 (labeled as B-7) all mention a required 20 cm distance. This information is inconsistent with expectations since SAR was provided. Please adjust to clarify or correct as necessary. Note that the prohibition against co-location should remain. Timothy R. Yes, 2473MHz is the in-band spurious, not outside-band spurious. We have a little confuse on bandedge test. 15.247 says that ?In any 100KHz bandwidth outside the frequency band in which the spread spectrum intentional radiator is operating, the radio frequency power that shall be at least 20dB below that in the 100KHz bandwidth within the band that contains the highest level of the desired power, based on either an RF conducted or a radiated measurement.?We have two problems: Q1: Should the bandedge test contain the in-band spurious test and outside-band spurious test, or just outside-band spurious test? Q2: Should the bandedge test contain the conducted bandedge test and radiated bandedge test, or just conducted bandedge test? 6. We have tested part 15B DOC seperately. Several aspects of the SAR report can not be proofed without this information. These plots should typically contain crest factors, probe factors, liquid parameters, test information, and other important information. 2) The report should include the composition, ingredients, and amounts for tissue liquid listed. 3) better descriptions of extrapolation & interpolation procedures used by the software. The order requires routine SAR evaluation prior to equipment authorization of portable transmitter devices, including portable telephones.
