In these circumstances, the OEM integrator will be responsible for re-evaluating the end product (including the transmitter) and obtaining a separate FCC authorization. End Product Labeling This transmitter module is authorized only for use in device where the antenna may be installed such that 20 cm may be maintained between the antenna and users. The final end product must be labeled in a visible area with the following: “Contains TX FCC ID: MAU040”. Manual Information To the End User The OEM integrator has to be aware not to provide information to the end user regarding how to install or remove this RF module in the user’s manual of the end product which integrates this module. The users manual for OEM integrators must include the following information in a prominent location “IMPORTANT NOTE: To comply with FCC RF exposure compliance requirements. INTRODUCTION The BTC04R series is a embedded Bluetooth module, smallest form factor for Notebook and handheld PC. The Bluetooth function is based on CSR BlueCore4-ROM A07 single chip, which is fully compliant with Bluetooth 2.1 specification plus EDR. It has good RF performance. Lowest power consumption, piconet and scatternet capability. The interface is HCI USB compliant with USB fully speed (12Mbits). The cable connection and PIN define of “Host I/F connector” from BT module (BTC04R series) to PC system is specially customized by OEM Laptop PC. There are two models shown as below: Model A: the chip antenna is embedded on board. Model B: it requires the external antenna connection. CastleNet Technology Inc. INSTALLATION 2.1 Installed in Laptop PC The Mainboard of the system should provide a Host connector and Cable connection for BT module. Please follow the SOP to install & assemble it step by step. 2.2 Testing in Lab The module is embedded inside Notebook. If for testing purpose, we provide the “USB Testing Board” in order to let tester connect BTC04R via the special cable connection to PC externally. The USB Testing Board provides +5V/3.3V conversion from PC Host. Please plug into any USB port on your PC. The radio portion of this module has been shielded, please see exhibition external photos. 2 The modular transmitter must have buffered Modulation / data inputs. The EUT has buffer modulation / data input. 3 The modular transmitter must have its own power supply regulation. The EUT has its own power supply regulation. 4 The modular transmitter must comply with the antenna requirement of the Section 15.203 and 15.204(c) The EUT meets the FCC antenna requirements. The spurious emission, unique antenna connector and photo of antennas are shown in the Report and Internal photos. 5 The modular transmitter must be tested in a stand-alone configuration. It was tested with host device. Please refer to test setup photos in details. 6 The modular transmitter must be labeled with its own FCC ID number. The BT module will be labeled with its own FCC ID. (see the label exhibit) 7 The modular transmitter must comply with any specific rule or operating requirements applicable to the transmitter and the manufacturer must provide adequate instructions along with the module to explain any such requirements. REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLIANCE TESTING DEFINED BY THE FCC The US Federal Communications Commission has released the report and order “Guidelines for Evaluating the Environmental Effects of RF Radiation", ET Docket No. 93-62 in August 1996. The order requires routine SAR evaluation prior to equipment authorization of portable transmitter devices, including portable telephones. For consumer products, the applicable limit is 1.6 mW/g for an uncontrolled environment and 8.0 mW/g for an occupational/controlled environment as recommended by the ANSI/IEEE standard C95.1-1992. According to the Supplement C of OET Bulletin 65 “Evaluating Compliance with FCC Guide-lines for Human Exposure to Radio frequency Electromagnetic Fields", released on Jun 29, 2001 by the FCC, the device should be evaluated at maximum output power (radiated from the antenna) under “worst-case” conditions for normal or intended use, incorporating normal antenna operating positions, device peak performance frequencies and positions for maximum RF energy coupling.
