RFM182 / RFM182W Instruction Manual How to operate your fixture Step 1: Set both light fixtures (transmitter and twin Par receiver) to the same house code by turning the dial on the bottom of the sensor head and the bottom of the receiver to the same number. There are 16 different selections Step 2: Move slide switch on bottom of sensor head to “TEST”. Set sensitivity knob to medium (halfway). Step 3: Turn on power to both fixtures. Step 4: Aim sensor head toward desired detection area. Make sure sensor head is positioned with the control switches facing towards the ground and at a 15º down angle. Step 5: Walk across the detection zone at the farthest distance you wish your detector to detect motion. Adjust sensitivity until you get desired results. Step 6: Move slide switch to 4 MIN or 12 MIN (AUTO mode). At dusk your lights will operate in the AUTO setting. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures: • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. How to select your desired feature Mode of Operation Slide switch position How to set power switch Auto Setting (motion activated) Light fixture with motion sensor detects motion and sends an ON signal to receiver. Lights should turn off after 4 or 12 minutes after all motion stops. The transmitter contains a daylight sensor, which only allows lights to come on at night. 4 MIN Or 12 MIN Keep the power on to both fixtures Dusk to Dawn Setting (activated only at night) Lights should stay on from dusk to dawn and then reset to the auto setting next dawn. 4 MIN Or 12 MIN Turn power on and off twice within 3 seconds. Standard Floodlight Setting Lights should stay on continuously both day and night (must be reset manually). TEST Turn power on and off twice within 3 seconds. TEST Setting Lights should turn on when the remote sensor detects motion, both day and night. Lights should turn off after 8 seconds after all motion has stopped. TEST Keep the power on to both fixtures

Response to TCB Findings Q: Please explain how the duty-cycle was determined Response: The manufacturer indicated that the maximum worst case scenario would be if the transmitters were made to transmit all "1" 's which would only allow for a maximum 50% duty cycle. Therefore the transmitter was continuously transmitting 1’s during the testing. Q: Please provide external pictures of the transmitter. Response: Supplied.

Theory of Operation Module : T180AC Description: AC power motion sensing transmitter with PAR lamp fixture. T180AC, is a motion sensing transmitter light fixture. It is powered by 120VAC, 60 HZ and can be wall mount or eve mount and is rated for outdoor use only. The module consists of a passive infra-red motion detector, control circuit, relay to switch on the PAR fixture connected to the transmitter, encoder and 315 MHz SAW resonator and utilizes a 22 AWG wire antenna, 245mm in length. The detector has 4 modes of operation: test, auto-4 minutes, auto-12 minutes and manual override; and one sensitivity adjustment for motion detection and one house code selection. The detector also has a built-in photo sensor with dual functions; first is to disable motion detection in auto mode or manual override mode during the day. Secondly, switch the fixture out of manual override at a higher light level. During test mode, if motion is detected, it will turn on its PAR fixture and also send an encoded RF signal, “ON “ command, with carrier frequency of 315MHz to the receiver. The internal timer will time out in 8 seconds after motion ceased. It will then turn off its PAR fixture and send an encoded RF signal,” OFF” command to the receiver. Auto 4 minutes and Auto 12 minutes work the same as test mode except the photo circuit will disable motion detection during the day and the internal timer is either 4 minutes or 12 minutes, depending on the settings, instead of 8 seconds in the test mode. Manual override. During Auto-4 and Auto-12 at night, cutting power off-on-off-on within 2 seconds to the transmitter fixture will force the fixture engaged into manual override mode. The PAR fixture will turn on and stay on until the photo sensing circuit has detected a higher level of ambient light or the same power interruption off-on-off-on occurred in the input. However, the same power interruption off-on-off-on within 3 seconds in test mode will keep the fixture stay on no matter what the day light level is. The transmitter will send “ON” command and “OFF” command to the receiver based on the status of the PAR lamp fixture.

The transmitter is an intentional radiator operating at 315MHz and transmits when a motion detector detects motion. The transmitter cannot transmit again until no motion is detected from 4 to 12 minutes. After the 4 to 12 minute timer has expired the transmitter is then ready to detect motion again. The transmit duration is 2 seconds maximum (on time). For the purpose of testing, the unit was set to a 51.25% duty cycle. The equipment utilizes a maximum 2 second pulse that occurs at a maximum frequency of once every 4 minutes in normal operation. The enclosure is constructed of plastic in the shape of a semicircle with a 3cm radius and 5cm height and encloses the following components judged as critical: 1. A main board, part no.
