Model - TE-100 Hand-Held or Wall Mount POCSAG Paging Transmitters USER'S MANUAL *TE1000405v01* FCC Radio Frequency Exposure InformationWARNING !!! Read this information before using this productSafety InformationBody-worn OperationIn August 1996 the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the United States with its action inReport and Order FCC 96-326 adopted an update safely standard for human exposure to radio frequencyelectromagnetic energy emitted by FCC regulated transmitters. Those guidelines are consistent with thesafety standard previously set by both the U.S. and international standards bodies. The design of thisphone complies with the FCC guidelines and these international standards.Use only the supplied or an approved antenna. Unauthorized antennas, modifications, or attachmentscould impair call quality, damage the phone, or result in violation of FCC regulations.Do not use the phone with a damaged antenna. IF a damaged antenna comes into contact with the skin, aminor burn may result. Please contact your local dealer for replacement antenna.Your radio contains a low power transmitter. When the button is pushed, it sends out radio frequency (RF)signals. The device is authorized to operate at a duty factor not to exceed 50%. In August 1996, theFederal Communications Commissions (FCC) adopted Therefore exposure guidelines with safety levelsfor hand-held wireless devices. To maintain compliance with FCC's. If you wear the handset on your body while using the headsetaccessory, use only the supplied belt clip for this product and when transmitting, take it out of the belt clipto ensure. The belt clip is for storage purpose only. DO NOT TRANSMIT WHILE USING THE BELT CLIP.POWER AMP Specification : Voltage : 4.5V; Current : 320mA The Gold Apollo TE-100 is a POCSAG paging transmitters suitable for messaging or remote control applications. The units are designed for hand-heldoperation or fixing to a flat surface, such as a wall.Personal and commercial security, medical alert, restaurants, supermarkets andremote machinery control are just a few of the potential applications for this familyof transmitters. The transmitters can be programmed to suit application requirements usingGold Apollo product support software and the accompanying programmingadaptor. A front panel LED indicates the transmitter active. Each transmitter ispowered by 3 AAA alkaline battery, giving an operational life of hundreds oftransmissions. A range of up to 500 meters can be expected from the TE-100transmitter.How to use the TE-100: Where the transmitter is fitted with multiple buttons, each button can be programmed with unique user defined messages forpaging applications, or control character sequences for remote controlapplications. Eight additional digital inputs are provided for use as required. Hand-Held or Wall Mount Transmitters Hand-Held or Wall Mount POCSAG Paging Transmitters TE-100 Series Transmitters

American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 May 22, 2003 RE: FCC ID: NDATX100XU_ATCB000461 Attention: Jacob Lin I have a few comments on this Application. 1. Please note that the 731 states LMS (Location and Monitoring Service). This service is for the monitoring and location determination of mobile vehicles under Subpart M of Part 90, not personnel nor stationary objects (i.e. your reference to placing the device on a wall). The manual for this device clearly states paging and remote control as primary functions. Please note that this device does not appear to qualify for LMS as you have described. Please provide an accurate 731 and accurate test documentation for the service in which this device is to operate. xxx 2. Please note, this is a Part 90 device. Your label contains a 2-condition statement from 15.21 that is neither necessary nor appropriate. Please explain why the Part 15 statement is on the label. Alternately please remove the Part 15 statement from the part 90 label. xxx 3. Please note, power for handheld Part 90 devices are ERP. Please provide ERP measurements done using the antenna substitution method prescribed in TIA 603. xxx bodyworn 4. Please note that 90.209 (your reference to OBW plots) limits 421-512MHz devices to authorized bandwidths of 12.5kHz and a channel spacing of 6.5kHz (25kHz authorized BW are no longer allowed). Please provide data in relation to th is requirement. xxx 5. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. Foreword In adopt with the Human Exposure IEEE C95.1, and according to the FCC 1.1310. The Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) is obligated to measure in order to prove the safety of radiation harmfulness to the human body. The Gain of the antenna used is measured in an Anechoic chamber. The maximum total power to the antenna is to be recorded. By adopting the Friis Transmission Formula and the power gain of the antenna, we can find the distance right away from the product, where the limit of the MPE is. 2.
