Bluetooth Rechargeable Optical Mouse User’s Guide MODEL: BT-25C Important Ergonomic Information Some experts believe that using any mouse or trackball for a long time may cause serious injury to hands, wrists, arms, neck, or back. If you feel pain, numbness, or weakness in these areas, see a qualified health professional. TO REDUCE THE RISK OF INJURY, FOLLOW THESE PRECAUTIONS: z Take frequent breaks, get up and walk around several times every hour. z Vary your tasks throughout the day. z Keep your shoulders relaxed with your elbows at your side. Properly position your mouse so that you do not have to reach. z Avoid resting your wrists on sharp edges. System Requirement z Mouse compatible with standard Microsoft mode z IBM compatible PCs running Windows operating system which supports USB devices. Before you begin z Keep this installation guide for future reference! It contains Important Troubleshooting Information. z Keep your old PS/2 mouse as a back-up device. Getting Started Congratulations on your purchase of an 800dpi Bluetooth Optical Mouse especially for a display at 1024*768 or higher. It has a double operation speed and only requires 1/4 space by comparing with a 400dpi mouse. Package Contains Your BT-25C Bluetooth Mouse package includes the following: 1. One Bluetooth Optical Mouse 2. One cradle charger 3. User’s manual 4. CD with software driver 5. 2 AAA size of rechargeable batteries NoteIf any part is missing, please contact your dealer for a replacement immediately. Precaution ! The optical mouse cannot work on a glass or mirror. Avoid operating this mouse on a glossy surface. Otherwise, this mouse may not operate normally. ! For consideration of saving battery power, it is strongly recommended to operate an optical mouse on a bright surface with fine texture to obtain lower power consumption of the Agilent high illumination LED. A very dark surface will cause higher power consumption. ! For a better transmission distance, avoid using this device on a metal plate or desktop. Operating on a metal will cause the transmission distance shorter. Installation Guide (Mouse) Step 1. Inserting the Batteries 1. Remove the battery cover by holding the mouse with the scrolling wheel toward you, and using your thumb to push out the batter cover along the direction indicated by the bold arrow. 2. Insert two AAA batteries. (The rechargeable batteries are in the packing). 3. Carefully slide the battery cover back in the direction opposite to that stated in procedure 1. Note: Please see the bottom of this mouse, the sliding-switch must be put on the “ON” position. Step 2. Connecting the Mouse to the Dongle There requires a one-time connection between the mouse and the receiver (dongle) whenever batteries are re-installed. Sliding-Switch Click CONNECT Please follow the steps below to finish the connection: 1. Before you can install your BT-25C Bluetooth mouse, please make sure you have Bluetooth dongle and done the Bluetooth driver installation procedure. 2. Press and release the “CONNECT” button on the bottom of the Bluetooth mouse. The led under the wheel button will be turn on. 3. On your computer system, double click the BT icon, and select the advanced configuration program. 4. Follow the indication of the advanced configuration program to setup the HID Bluetooth mouse driver. Step 3. Connecting the cradle 1. Connect the cable to a USB port directly. 2. The DC Jet side is connect to the cradle. 3. The connection is as follow. To USB Portr Step 4. Charging the mouse 1. Put the mouse on the cradle directly. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one of the following measures: - Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna. - Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver. - Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected. - Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help. This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2) this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. FCC Caution: Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate this equipment. IMPORTANT NOTE: FCC Radiation Exposure Statement: This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. End users must follow the specific operating instructions for satisfying RF exposure compliance. This transmitter must not be co-located or operating in conjunction with any other antenna or transmitter.

FCC ID: NIYBT25 Report No: SA940107L02 1 RF EXPOSURE REPORT REPORT NO.: SA940107L02 MODEL NO.: BT25 ACCORDING: FCC Guidelines for Human Exposure IEEE C95.1 APPLICANT: DEXIN Corporation ADDRESS: 14F-8, No 258, Lian Cheng Rd., Chung Ho City, Taipei Hsien, Taiwan, R.O.C ISSUED BY: Advance Data Technology Corporation LAB ADDRESS: No. 47, 14th Ling, Chia Pau Tsuen, Lin Kou Hsiang 244, Taipei Hsien, Taiwan, R.O.C. TEST LOCATION: No. 19, Hwa Ya 2 nd Rd., Wen Hwa Tsuen, Kwei Shan Hsiang, Taoyuan Hsien 333, Taiwan, R.O.C. FCC ID: NIYBT25 Report No: SA940107L02 2 RF Exposure Measurement 1. Introduction In this document, we try to prove the safety of radiation harmfulness to the human body for our product. The limit for Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) specified in FCC 1.1310 is followed. The Gain of the antenna used in this product is measured in a Fully Anechoic Chamber (FAC) calibrated for antenna measurement in ADT, and also the maximum total power input to the antenna is measured. Through the Friis transmission formula and the maximum gain of the antenna, we can calculate the distance, away from the product, where the limit of MPE is reached. Although the Friis transmission formula is a far field assumption, the calculated result of that is an over-prediction for near field power density. We will take that as the worst case to specify the safety range. 2. RF Exposure Limit According to FCC 1.1310: The criteria listed in the following table shall be used to evaluate the environmental impact of human exposure to radio-frequency (RF) radiation as specified in 1.1307(b) LIMITS FOR MAXIMUM PERMISSIBLE EXPOSURE (MPE) Frequency Range (MHz) Electric Field Strength (V/m) Magnetic Field Strength (A/m) Power Density (mW/cm 2 ) Average Time (minutes) (A)Limits For Occupational / Control Exposures 300-1500......F/3006 1500-100,000......56 (B)Limits For General Population / Uncontrolled Exposure 300-1500......F/15006 1500-100,000......1.030 F = Frequency in MHz FCC ID: NIYBT25 Report No: SA940107L02 3 3. Friis Formula Friis transmission formula: Pd = (Pout*G) / (4*pi*r 2 ) where Pd = power density in mW/cm 2 Pout = output power to antenna in mW G = gain of antenna in linear scale Pi = 3.1416 R = distance between observation point and center of the radiator in cm If we know the maximum Gain of the antenna and the total power input to the antenna, through the calculation, we will know the MPE value at distance 20cm. EUT Operating condition The software provided by Manufacturer enabled the EUT to transmit and receive data at lowest, middle and highest channel individually.
