Safety and Regulatory Guide Safety and Regulatory Guide...........................................................................................................................................2 2 Important Safety Information – Read Before Use The [VIVE Dongle] product (the “product”) is intended to be used with other peripheral devices (“peripherals”) with a virtual reality system. Read the following warnings and information before use of the product and follow all safety and operating instructions applicable to the product, the peripherals, and your virtual reality system. Failure to do so may cause bodily injury, electric shock, fire, and property and other damage. Ensure You Are Able to Safely Use the Product Consult your doctor bef ore using the product or any peripherals if you have pre-existing serious medical conditions (such as a heart ailment), conditions that aff ect your ability to safely perform physical activities, psychiatric conditions (such as anxiety disorders or post-traum atic stress disorder), or if you are pregnant or elderly. Do not use the product if you are sick, f atigued, under the inf luence of intoxicants/drugs, or are not feeling generally well, as it may exacerbate your condition. Ensure the Area Around You is Safe for Use of the Product Use of the product allows users to turn accessories and other everyday objects into VR-compatible accessories, which may heighten the risks presented by use of a virtual reality headset. Always use the product in a clear and saf e area. W hile wearing a virtual reality headset you are blind to the world around you. The image displayed in the headset will not match the real world. Always use the product in a clear and safe area. Do not rely on the chaperone system for protection. Do not use the product near stairways, large windows, breakable items, heat sources, or outdoors. Clear the play area of people, f urniture, and other things that may be obstacles or block you from freely moving around. Pets should be kept out of the play area. Use only indoors. Be caref ul when handling and using your product and peripherals, as obstacles in the real world may not be perceived while in virtual reality. Be sure to review and follow all safety inf ormation included with peripherals you may attach to your product. Depending on the size and nature of the peripheral to which you attach the product, additional hazards may be presented. Please choose peripherals caref ully and only use those that are compatible with the size and nature of your play area. It is recommended that the product be used only while under the supervision of another person (to remain outside the play area) who is ready to warn of hazards that may arise while the product is being used. Examples of hazards that could arise include, but are not limited to, tangling of a cable in a manner that presents a tripping hazard, pets or people entering the area where the product is being used, and the user walking, jumping, lunging, or swinging an object too close to a wall or another hazard. Follow All Applicable Safety and Operational Instructions All users must follow the saf ety and operational instructions provided f or all VIVE virtual reality systems. Copies of this information is available form HTC’s website. These instructions include the f ollowing war nings: • Avoid Overuse of the Pr oduct. Prolonged, uninterrupted use of the product or peripherals should be 3 avoided. I t may negatively impact hand-eye coordination, balance, and/or cause other negative effects. W hile using the product or peripherals frequently and for prolonged periods of time, you may experience tiredness or soreness in your muscles, joints, or other body parts. Take regular breaks f rom using the product. The length and f requency of necessary breaks may vary f rom person to person. • Stop using if you experience any discomfort. Operate the product and peripherals in a comfortable posture. Do not grip the product or peripherals too tightly. If you have tingling, numbness, stiff ness, throbbing, or other discomf ort, immediately stop using the product and consult your doctor. • Avoid use by childr en. This product was not designed for use by children and should not be lef t within reach of young children. Take Care of the Product W hile using the product and peripherals, always check that you have sufficient overhead and surrounding clearance to allow you to f ully extend your arms outward and upwards, including clearance f or the peripheral. Hitting persons or objects may cause injury or damage. Hold the product and/or peripherals firmly and follow all instructions included with the peripherals. If released while using, the product and/or peripheral may cause injury or damage. Radio Frequency Interference The product can emit radio waves that can interfere with the operation of nearby electronic devices. If you have a cardiac pacemaker or other implanted medical device, do not use the product until you have consulted with your doctor or the manuf acturer of your medical device. General Use and Maintenance Instructions Electrical Safety This product can only be powered and received via USB Type C. Other usage may be dangerous and will invalidate any approval given to this product. Safety Precautions for Environmental Conditions Keep the product away f rom excessive moisture and extreme temperatures. Do not leave the product in places such as on a car dashboard, window sill, or behind a glass that is exposed to direct sunlight or strong ultraviolet light for extended periods of time. This may damage, or otherwise pose a risk of damage to the product or surrounding persons or property. Do not allow the product to be exposed to rain or other sources of moisture. The product should be kept away f rom heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other products (including amplifiers) that produce heat. Tracker(2QBP100) / Dongle(2QCD100) setup guide About the Tracker 1.Tra cke r (2QBP100) 2.Power button 3.Status light 4.POGO pin 5.USB Type-C port 6.Dongle (2QCD100) 7.Dongle cradle 8.Camera Charging Tracker Charging Tracker using the USB Type-C cable that came in the box. Connect one end of the USB Type-C cable to Tracker and the other end to your computer. When Tracker is fully charged, status light will go back to the previous status. Yo u can also use a power adapter with the USB Type-C cable to charge Tracker. Using the dongle and pairing Tracker The dongle needs to be connected to the headset for Tracker to be tracked. Connect the dongle to your headset 1. Connect the dongle to headset USB-C port. 2. From your VR headset, turn on Wi-Fi, then go to Settings > inputs > Motion Trackers, pair new device. 3. Press the Tracker POWER button for 2 seconds. The status light will blink blue. 4. Wait for the status light to turn green or blink red/green. This means pairing is successful.
