Please call our customer service number (listed on our website at www.oregonscientifi c.com ), or on the warranty card for this product) for all in quir ies instead. We Name: Oregon Scientifi c, Inc. Address: 19861 SW 95th Place, Tualatin, Oregon 97062 USA Telephone No.: 1-800-853-8883 Fax No.: 1-503-684-3332 declare that the product Product No.: RTGR368NA Product Name: Remote Thermo-Hygro Sensor Manufacturer: IDT Technology Limited Address: Block C, 9/F, Kaiser Estate, Phase 1, 41 Man Yue St., Hung Hom, Kowloon, Hong Kong is in conformity with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two con di tions: 1) This device may not cause harmful interference. 2) This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation. © 2005 Oregon Scientifi c. All rights reserved P/N.: 086-003866-015 REMOTE SENSOR The RTGR368NA sensor collects temperature and humidity readings, and signals from offi cial time-keeping organizations for the atomic clock. SET UP THERMO / HYGRO SENSOR RTGR368NA) 1. Open the battery compartment with a small Phillips screw- driv er. 2. Insert the batteries. 3. Set the channel and radio signal format. The switches are lo cat ed in the battery compartment. 4. Press RESET. Then set the temperature unit. 5. Press ZONE to select the US time zone: P (Pacifi c), M (Mountain), C (Central) or E (Eastern). 6. Close the battery compartment. For best results: • Insert the batteries and select the unit, channel, and time zone before you mount the sensor. • Place the sensor out of direct sunlight and moisture. • Do not place the sensor more than 230 feet (70 meters) from the main (indoor) unit. • Position the sensor so that it faces the main (indoor) unit, min i miz ing obstructions such as doors, walls, and fur ni ture. • Place the sensor in a location with a clear view to the sky, away from metallic or electronic objects. • Position the sensor close to the main unit during cold winter months as below-freezing temperatures may affect battery performance and signal transmission. NOTE The transmission range may vary and is subject to the receiving range of the main unit. You may need to experiment with various locations to get the best results. Standard Alkaline batteries contain sig nifi cant amounts of water. Be cause of this they will freeze in low temperatures of approximately 10ºF. Disposable Lithium bat ter ies have a much lower threshold for tem per a ture with an estimated freezing range of below -40ºF. The Liquid Crystal Display in out door ther mom e ters will remain operational to -20ºF with ad e quate power. Wireless ranges can be impacted by a variety of factors such as extremely cold temperatures. Extreme cold may temporarily reduce the effective range between the sensor and the base station. If the unit's performance fails due to low temperature, the unit will resume proper functioning as the temperature rises to within the normal temperature range (i.e. no permanent damage will occur to the unit due to low temperatures). RESET SYSTEM Press RESET when you change the batteries and whenever performance is not behaving as expected (for example, you are unable to establish radio frequency link with remote unit). NOTE When you press RESET, all settings will return to default value, and you will lose all stored information. SAFETY AND CARE Clean the product with a slightly damp cloth and alcohol-free, mild detergent. Avoid dropping the product or placing it in a high-traffi c location. WARNINGS This product is designed to give you years of service if handled properly. Oregon Scientifi c will not be responsible for any deviations in the usage of the device from those specifi ed in the user instructions or any unapproved alterations or repairs of the product. Observe the following guidelines: • Never immerse the product in water. This can cause electrical shock and damage the product. • Do not subject the main unit to extreme force, shock, or fl uctuations in temperature or humidity. To fold out the stand: To use the wall mount: SWITCHOPTION ChannelIf you are using more than one sensor, select a different channel for each sensor. The EUT sense the temperature and humidity level, then transmit this information to the associated weather station. A transmitter transmits signal for every 39 seconds, and the signal on period is about 0.39ms. It activated automatically shall cease transmission within 2 seconds after activation. Hence it operates 92 times per hour.
