American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 June 6, 2003 RE: Akerstroms Bjorbo AB FCC ID: OG4-BC85 I have a few comments on the above referenced Application. 1) The FCC Label shows "FCC-ID: OG4-BC85". Note that a dash should not be placed between the words FCC and ID. Please correct to "FCC ID: OG4-BC85". 2) The internal photographs show a 433 MHz Transmitter module, while the test report shows 434.648 MHz. Please explain. Additionally it is not certain the actual transmit frequencies that this device will be capable of transmitting on. Please provide further information regarding actual transmit frequencies. 3) If this device transmits on multiple frequencies, it is not certain if there are any changes to components of the device or to the RF module. If different RF modules are used, what are the differences between these modules? Note that if there are several modules used to cover the 421-512 Frequency range, an investigation should be performed to determine how the test results vary depending on the module used. 4) Please provide data sheets on the RF module(s) to be used in this device. 5) The confidentiality letter requests confidentiality on the Technical Description. However the operational description provided appears only to be a sales brochure and therefore not considered as confidential. Please remove the technical description from the confidentiality letter. 6) Please provide: a) DC voltages & /currents applied into the several elements of the final radio frequency amplifying device for normal operation over the power range b) Tune up procedure over power range c) Description of all circuitry and devices provided for determining and stabilizing frequency, for suppression of spurious radiation, for limiting modulation, and for limiting power. 7) FYI, even though this device meets the requirements of 90.217, it is still required for the end user to obtain a license to use it. It is recommended that the users manual contain information such as " The equipment user is required by the radio service rules to obtain a license before operating the equipment". 8) FYI, the test report should reference the most recent published version of Part 2/90, for example October, 2002. 9) FYI, the receiver portion of this system is subject to Part 15 Certification or DoC requirements. The users manual did not appear to contain any of the appropriate information necessary for the Receiver approval. Timothy R. Johnson Examining Engineer mailto: [email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.
30090-4 FCC ID: OG4-BC85 Answers to ATCB comments (Email from Timothy Johnson - June 6, 2003): 1 New file uploaded 2 The frequency range of CDP-TX-02N module are 433.875 MHz up to 434.650 MHz (see uploaded data sheets). The printing on the label (433 MHz) is only for operating band information. The change of channel is only available by manufacturer not for the customer (because dip switches are on the bottom side of the module.) The selected channel is a manufacturer default setting (434.650 MHz). 3 There are no different RF modules used (explained at pt. 2) 4 New file uploaded Note: Parts lists are only available in Japanese language! - New file uploaded 5 New file uploaded 6 6a: Voltage : 2V / Current : approx. 15mA 6b: see attached description from module manufacturer (pt.2) 6c: see attached description from module manufacturer (pt.2) 7 New file uploaded 8 New file uploaded 9 New file uploaded

CDP-02N UHF Synthesized Radio Data Module Operation Guide 3 GENERAL DESCRIPTION & FEATURES Features • Compatible with European EN 300 220 standard • Very small compact integrated device with PLL synthesizer and micro controller • Frequency selection free in 32 channels for 433MHz, 11 channels for 458MHz • New integrated UHF filter technology • 5mW/10mW selectable Applications • Radio remote control cranes and machines • Radio remote control for garage door controls • Security systems • Room surveillance • Theft protection • Telemetry systems General description The CDP-02N consists of CDP-TX-02N (CDP-TX-02AN) transmitter and CDP-RX-02N (CDP-RX-02AN) receiver. It is suitable for various application fields such as wireless data communication, remote control, telemetry or wireless security systems. It is easy to use and integrate into application systems. The CDP-02N is equipped with a frequency synthesizer system with micro controller. The frequency range of the CDP-02N (EU type) is from 433.875MHz to 434.650MHz in 32 channels which are selectable by use of a 4 bits switch, and a jumper on the PCB for 2 groups of 16 channels. The frequency range of the CDP-02AN (UK type) is from 458.525MHz to 458.775MHz in 11 channels, which are selectable with a 4 bits switch. The compact size, low operation voltage and frequency selectability of the CDP-02N make it ideal for various applications where its interference rejection and practical distance range is far better than similar RF modules based on wide band SAW-resonator frequency generators. Standard RS232 serial data and other digital data (TTL level), such as pulse width modulation signals and signals from standard encoder-decoder circuits of the given AF bandw…
