6455 Lusk Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92121-2779 (619) 587-1121 6210 Spine Rd. Boulder, CO 80301 Federal Communication Commission February 10, 2003 Reference: FCC ID: OJYKAG11 Request for Confidentiality Pursuant to the Sections 0.457 and 0.459 of the Commission’s Rules, Ericsson Wireless Communications Inc. hereby requests confidentiality of certain aspects of the information accompanying this Application for Type Acceptance as specifically identified below: 1. Technical Description 2. System Block Diagram 3. Schematics 4. Pictures 5. Parts List 6. Tune-up Procedure All items contain trade secrets and other proprietary information not customarily released to the general public. Public disclosure of this information would be harmful to Ericsson Wireless Communications Inc. at this time, and would provide unjustified benefits to our competitors. These materials contain proprietary intellectual property, and Ericsson is on the process of filling for patent protection on many of these items. The request for confidentiality on the Installation Manuel at this time is due to licensee testing which will be conducted after the grant is issued but before the product is released to the general public. Release of the installation instructions before formal release to the general public would expose proprietary information concerning advanced operation functions. Once the product is released to the general public the FCC will be informed the confidentiality treatment of the Installation Manuel may be removed. Ericsson understands that pursuant to Rule 0.457 disclosure of any information contained in this application will not be made before the date of grant. Regards, Keith A. Goshia Senior Regulatory Engineering Manager

American Telecommunications Certification Body Inc. 6731 Whittier Ave, McLean, VA 22101 February 21, 2003 RE: FCC ID: OJY KAG11 Attention: Keith Goshia I have a few comments on this Application. 1. Your MPE calculations do not appear correct. A 20 watt device with a 16dBi antenna would give a separation distance of 250cm (2.5 meters) not 600cm. Please correct the calculations in the MPE report. xxx 2. Please provide photos of the circuitry under the shields on all boards and board sides. xxx 3. Your internal photos (exhibit 5) state confidential in the file name. However, you have not asked for nor provided evidence that the photos can be held confidential. Unless the confidentiality request included these photos and unless it can be shown why these photos should be confidential, they will not be held confidential. xxx 4. This is a licensed device, please explain why the FCC DoC logo for home use has been applied. xxx 5. Please note that while you have provided a short tuneup procedure, you have not provided the theory of operation or an operational description for the device. Please provide an adequate operational description of the system. xxx 6. Please note, you have not provided a test report for the device. Please provide the necessary test report. Once this is provided, review can resume. xxx Dennis Ward mailto:[email protected] The items indicated above must be submitted before processing can continue on the above referenced application. Failure to provide the requested information may result in application termination. Correspondence should be considered part of the permanent submission and may be viewed from the Internet after a Grant of Equipment Authorization is issued. Please do not respond to this correspondence using the email reply button. In order for your response to be processed expeditiously, you must submit your documents through the AmericanTCB.com website. Also, please note that partial responses increase processing time and should not be submitted. Any questions about the content of this correspondence should be directed to the sender.
